It comes to my head and I try to empathize with what Lan Wangji and Wei WuXian are feeling when they're thinking about A-yuan and I just realized that I don't wanna have children because I associate children/young family with poverty and difficult times. I am also adopted and my mom was very poor at the time, she told me all the difficulties she went through, i told her "but you didn't have to! Why did you adopt a baby? Why did you make your life harder than it already was?" and she always replies "i just loved you since the first time I saw you and that was it" I think this happens a lot. The same with Lan Wangji: he was weirded out at first bc A-yuan cried out loud in public but then wwx came with "this is my son/i gave birth to this child" and a window opened in Lwj's mind "I can... OUAT OC based on this tale. However, instead it's a girl who was born deaf. She's not a princess but rather the daughter of a minor lord. She tries to never laugh because she's been looked at oddly when she laughs, as her voice is hoarse and wheezy since it never developed properly as a voice would for a hearing person. Many people view her to be very gloomy because of this and she keeps to herself as much as possible.
