Beretta 1951, the precursor to the Beretta 92, these are interesting post war pistols. They incorporate the locking system form the Walther P38 but retains a similar take down lever form the earlier Beretta 1934/35 pistols. Beretta also added a cross bolt safety, like those on a modern shotgun, and a large grip mag release. The Beretta 1951 is also single action, single stack pistol only much like 1911a1. It makes for a well balanced pistol and one that is thinner to handle then the later Beretta 92.
