So I really want to get a snake and I was wondering if you could tell me about the best kinds of snakes to get for beginners

I think the best kind of snake for a beginner to get is one they are really excited about and are positive they can care for many years to come.

There are so many fun species to research. Some good ones I can list here corn snake, house snake, garter snake, children’s python (or others in anteresia), sand boa, hognose, ball python and rosy boa.

I would look at lots of species and find one you are passionate about then find out about any quirks or difficulties of them. Like ball pythons and their infamous fasts. Then you can talk to keepers of that kind of snake and decide if their difficulties are something you are prepared to deal with.
