1x04 m.e. time
- this is an unpopular opinion but I really enjoy re-watching the episode. it’s a good ep to show you how far the characters have come
- THAT COLOUR LOOKS AMAZING ON AMY!!!! no wonder jake wanted to ruin her date
- speaking of, of course he couldn’t resist the little-boy-pulling-little-girls-pigtails thing they’ve got going on even when it costs him his date
- it makes me wonder what jake would have been like if he ran into her on a date with teddy after he realised his romantic-stylez feelings. much to think about
- jake celebrating “five felonies in one week” versus not wanting to celebrate his breaking the precinct record in “unsolvable”. also much to think about
- basically, this is obviously paraphrased but I remember them saying in the podcast that Jake’s feelings for amy came into play because he was otherwise a cocky detective that was well-liked with a pretty good life and they needed something to ground him and make the audience root for him. and, to me at least, that’s exactly what happened when teddy showed up. It kind of knocked his ego, forced him to drop a bit of his bravado and made him realise what was important and you can see the difference watching earlier episodes
- “make a difference TODAY” has been written on the whiteboard for a couple of episodes now.

- but he looks SO GOOD driving that car looking all annoyed when boyle’s singing
- season 7 jake would be singing along with him in that car though just saying
- Melissa’s on her a-game this episode she's so good
- “....sup?” Stephanie talked about that in the podcast and he does do that here and I know he does it in halloween too lol was that his flirting technique
- his date with the m.e. reminds me of how people noticed that he has worn a plaid shirt on every date he’s been on but with his first date with amy he really dressed up <3 like a part of him knew that was the last first date he’d ever go on
-”sex is something that two adults do with their bodies when they’re attracted to each other”. you know what else sex is jake? something that makes babies. honey, you’ve got a big storm coming
- when jake says he’s up for pretty much anything in the bedroom, the camera’s not on amy but you can see her shake her head I'm assuming in disgust...girl....just you wait

- “I hate small talk. let’s drink in silence.” man, rosa and boyle’s relationship development has really been one of the best on the show.
