Beauregard Beauchanon Bojangles WhiteWood the 3rd. A character whose name is insufferable to say, spell and remember. I never thought I’d get around to concepting him because I’ve wanted to design him for a while-I just didn’t imagine he’d end up in Shadow Oaks.

Bojangles is the grandson of the leader of the Taily Po Cult-a very old Warlock Cult in Shadow Oaks that predates the town’s founding. The members worship the Taily Po-a mysterious cat monster that demands the sacrifice of tails of other creatures to replace it’s own. Bojangles never wanted that life; specifically he never wanted the life his Grandmother Whitewood tried to set him up on-which was becoming the next leader of this cult. After putting up with her racist behavior for long enough, he applied for a wizarding school scholarship at the farthest place he could find-in Germany-escaping his ancestral home and hopping on the first plane out of the country.

Bojangles spent roughly 4 years in Germany (he ran away when he was 16) at this school. He also had an accident there that resulted in him being a half-cat polymorph creature. He is very sensitive about it and often opts to cover up every inch of his body. Bojangles was one year from graduating with a full Wizarding Degree when his Grandmother’s Cultist Followers managed to find him and drag him back home for an arranged member with Malinka Grimalkin-the daughter of the Cult’s second in command. She severely did not reciprocate (breaking a plate over his head once) and with her and her friends help-they escaped the Whitewood Plantation Home. Bojangle’s grandmother who killed a crow in the final fight-was eaten alive by a swarm of crows along with several other cult members who were badly injured. Not wanting to continue living on the old plantation home property, Bojangles was informally adopted by the Grimalkins. He and Malinka function much better as siblings than they ever would as spouses.

Bojangles still is highly sensitive about his appearance, but around the home he’s grown more comfortable to dress down a bit. Bojangles speaks with a heavy aristocratic southern drawl, he is usually polite towards his elders, and he is greatly enjoying his liberation. He currently has no plans on returning to Germany to finish his degree-rather he seems to be doing it online.
