Ecuador Fun Fact: I wrote about Parque Carolina last week but, after a 2nd visit, I felt it merited another post. At 165.5 acres, it seems I had only visited just a small portion of the park last week. Well this week I covered it all. . . twice. The park has multiple children’s play areas as well as a few areas with carnival-type children’s rides. I stead of being powered electrically, the rides are man-powered with an employee pushing them (see photo). There is no fee. There are also two dirt-track bicycle racing rings; one for adults and one for children (see photo). There’s a motorcycle course (photo), a botanical garden (photo), and a bicycle rental. (I rented one for an hour for $2.00. A great way to get an overview of the park.) There’s every kind of food you could want as well as a small farmer’s market (on Sundays), and a river where you can rent a peddle boat ($4.50 For 30 minutes) and peddle around and through fountains and water arches. (Prepare to get wet; I did.) this is by now means a complete list of all there is to do at Parque Carolina. Go for a visit (weekend are the best) and see for yourself. And check out the photos of what I saw this past Sunday. #Quito #ecuador #southamerica #travel #ttot #travelwriter #passionpassport #travelphotography #DropMeAnywhere #lustforlife #lust4nature #nature (at Quito, Ecuador)
