That’s about 80 minutes from the border I stay at in Hrebenne. This was arranged through a Facebook group of women helping Ukrainian women. Some may know that i’ve been an independent volunteer driver basing myself at the city of Hrebenne at the Polish/Ukrainian border. I drive Ukrainian people from the border to larger cities to get further in their journey. I sometimes help with other bits like toys for their kids and accommodations (so I try my best not to deal with accommodations as it makes me crazy and I don’t have those contacts. Others do.) I also work with people inside Ukraine to help people out and supplies in. I’ve been posting my daily reports on my personal Facebook, but I have been asked to post more publicly. I will do so here from now on. This is my third round at the border. I arrived 10 days after the war began. This is my longest stint (about two weeks). I plan to leave to return to my home in Budapest on 19 May. I am unsure about plans to return to the border. I work on donations to my various money apps so it will depend on those as well as where I feel I can be the most help (and also trying to get the work done for my writing and for my tour company for women). I will continue to do daily posts as long as I can be of help to these wonderful people in this terrible situation. Please DM me if you’d like to contribute. A big reason that I do this is because I want all of these children that I need to look back in the decades to come and remember the kindness more than they remember the evil.
