Sorry if this was asked before but in your Drownedglory arraigned marriage AU, what would Pyro think of Apo and Cleo? And what do you imagine they'd think of him?
pyro doesnt think its his transness thats the problem, he thinks its him. theres something fundamental to his nature— some kind of rot in his soul— that makes him a natural target of bullying and abuse. being trans didnt cause that, its just something that the people who seek to hurt him can exploit to do so. he was being treated like that long before his parents and czeslaw found out, after all.
apo and cleo are open about their transness, but they dont have the rot. he thinks that even if its okay for them to be openly trans, it isnt for him. surely the rest of town wont treat him the same way, so he stays stealth. thats why he still retreats from town in fear when they do find out.
pyro first gravitated towards apo because of her transness. he had no intention of telling her or anyone else that he was trans, but maybe it would be slightly safer to room with someone like him than with one of the ostensibly cis town members. just in case his secret gets out.
apo is nice to him. i could see her being the first person in oakhurst he willingly comes out to, but being involved in her turning threw a serious wrench in things. i can actually talk about apo and pyro in the context of the crypt scene for hours and hours and hours, the way that he tried to soothe her, the way he thinks that the turning was inevitable so all he could do is try to make it as painless as possible for her. he doesnt want to hurt people, her least of all. he saw his actions as merciful and she saw them as hostile. so ends their relationship. i really dont think their relationship changes significantly from canon in this au!
now cleo is interesting. pyro is intimidated by her, shes so strong willed and self assured and hes a natural fawner and doormat. i dont think they interact much before cleo is turned.
post turn though. now hes like scott. hes turned a trans person against his will. hes gotten an intimate understanding of her identity through her blood, he sees how different it all was for her. and unlike him, she doesnt fear her sire. just more proof of the rot in him.
when everyone finds out pyro is trans, his relationships with everyone change. owen and shelby are overwhelmingly supportive, scott is scott, even some of the townsfolk try to reach out to him more, cleo is the only one who doesnt change how she acts towards him at all. his transness is more than just normal, its completely unremarkable. and pyro finds that so relieving. cleo is one of the only people he feels more comfortable with after finding out
