Monday Night Fight...
Iām not really sure why the Seahawks havenāt called me in to assistant coach⦠or at least be assistant to the regional coach, wait what? Assistant coach? But honestly, it would make sense. In just the first half, I called the touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham. The Russell Wilson touchdown, annnndddd even that questionable fake play. But here is the thing, if that fake play would have gone off without a hitch and Luke Willson made it to the end zone, nobody would have questioned it. It is games like this I wish I could be there for. I mean I wish I could be there for all of the games, but games like this especially. While my anxiety canāt really handle these games, itās still such a battle and I want to be part of that.
The Legion of Boom? Iām still personally trying to recover from Richard Shermanās season ending injury but itās nice to see he is in much better spirits about that than I am. Personally when he is ready to retire from football, he better be offered a commentating position. This guy knows the ins and outs of football. He knows the good calls, bad calls, and he fights for them⦠I would want him to commentate anything. Actually, maybe I should offer him a start by commentating my life. I could hear it now, āwow. This girl is really, really boring.ā I also was holding out hope that Kam Chancellor would be in this game but I guess I shouldnāt have. I really hope he finds his way back to the field before the end of the season, but itās not looking that great.
Earl Thomas was back and well, perhaps he is still healing that injury? Well, now it is time for everyone else to step it up! While I love Richard Sherman, and I love Earl Thomas, and I love Kam Chancellor⦠but now itās time for everyone else to show why they are part of the Seahawks organization. Itās now time to show everyone why they are part of the team of miracles. Letās step it up.
Our offense has actually made some improvements. Unfortunately, we had a few bad plays. Or we were in our heads. Probably a bit of both. I saw some great blocks by Justin Britt this week. I was SO impressed by Tyler Lockett. I was very happy with Doug Baldwin and Paul Richardson. I was not very happy with the interception⦠but then again, itās always interesting to see Russell Wilson tackle, so Iāll give him that. Oh and what did I say a few weeks ago? Jimmy Graham in the red zone.Ā
With the Rams losing yesterday, I was pretty excited coming into this game⦠I even was thinking we were going to manage to tie the game, go into overtime, and win the game. And then⦠Blair Walsh. I feel like I need to stop being so judgey every time I see him but I canāt help it.
Boom For Thought: Get out of your heads! Remember when this group of guys were rookies. And week after week they proved how great they were. Then they made it into the playoffs, and then they were out. And the next year when everyone doubted them, they went out and won the Super Bowl, and the year after that when they still managed to find their way back to the Super Bowl. Those kids. Those guys. Those guys were playing because you could see they loved ball and they had big dreams for themselves and their families. They were all trying to make something of themselves and prove they were just as good as every other team out there. Go back to playing like that. Go back to having fun and loving the game. Go back to fighting to prove that the under dogs can make something of themselves.
This Weekās MVP (in my mind): Tyler Lockett⦠boy was on fire.
