the replies to your post about luke having better characterization in mando are so annoying lol, "gOD FORBID THEY SHOW LUKE HAS FLAWS" like ok??? luke had flaws in the OT?? TLJ isn't special and his characterization in it sucked. Anyway. Luke had better characterization in 10 minutes than he did in the entire disney trilogy and you should absolutely say it
His characterization sucked indeed. If people want to enjoy the sequels, they absolutely can! I’m glad those movies were for them, I’m always happy when a person gets what they want in fandom, but they weren’t for me.
It just wasn’t my Luke Skywalker.
Not to get Too Personal™️ here but my personal life has been wild this year especially in regard to being trans and Luke’s storyline - learning how you are, becoming yourself, succeeding against all odds, staying true to who you want to be and wanting to build your community - I could relate to that. I want that.
Seeing what became of him in the sequels is so heartbreaking. It means he didn’t get his happy ending, that he did not get to rebuild his people.
But Mando gave me that! It showed a fully trained skilled Jedi Master who was in control of himself. We all saw the Vader parallel, but it was different. This was no angry Rogue One Death Corridor March. And then we get to see Luke being patient and calm, helping Din and Grogu understand each other. And he wants to teach, wants to help, wants to rebuild his people. Besides the Force Ghost, the Ahsoka episode established that Luke very likely hasn’t met a single other Jedi.
And there is the child with memories of the way things were, of happier times. Hope.
And idk these 10 minutes of Luke appearance mean a lot to me, personally, because they represent so much.
Also he looked fucking badass and we stan a Fashion King.
So yeah, if you’re annoyed by Luke in the Mandalorian, just make your own post? And let me be happy on mine.
