Summary: You're a mechanic on base who's been assigned to fix Luke Skywalker's X-wing, the man you've always wanted to be friends with.
(gif not mine!)
**PLEASE READ TRIGGER WARNINGS**
You were a mechanic at the base, one of the best mechanics that the Resistance had. From the moment Luke Skywalker had landed to stay at your base from now on, with Leia Organa and Han Solo following him, you immediately wanted to meet him. Yet, you knew you never would.
He was a Jedi fighting to save the entire galaxy, and you were a mechanic who didn't even have the desire to ascend in rank despite knowing you'd be able to. You'd spent your entire life being reminded that you weren't good enough amongst many other horrible things. You knew Luke would probably never even consider spending a second being your friend.
"Mechie, stop staring at Skywalker," Another mechanic, Nick, scolded you, "He's out of your league anyway. Stop dreaming."
Ducking your head down in an attempt to hide your red cheeks, you resumed the work you were doing on a droid. You sighed as you worked. Sure, the bullying had gotten better over the years. As you grew older and more and more people became consumed with winning the battle against the Republic, they stopped messing with you so much, but their words stayed.
Once finishing the droid, you quickly moved onto the X-Wing you'd been assigned to repair. You worked quickly, not understanding why you'd heard so many mechanics fuss about the complications as they left for lunch. It wasn't a hard fix, and it was easy enough that you spent some extra time polishing up the paint.
"Hey! Is she all fixed?"
You leaped at the voice, not expecting anyone to come in as normally all mechanics were at lunch right now. Stumbling off of the ladder, you felt like a complete idiot at the sight of Luke Skywalker in your garage. You expected some snarky comment about your stumbling, or possibly even how anxious you looked, but instead, Luke walked even closer to you with a bright smile on his face.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you," Was Luke actually apologizing to you? "Anyways, I was just stopping by because I got a holo notification saying the work was done."
"Y-yea," You stuttered, mentally kicking yourself, "Was just... uh... polishing some scratches."
"Thanks! I'm really sorry, but, uh," Luke paused, looking you up and down as you prepared yourself for heartbreak, "I never got your name."
"Huh!? Oh! Uh! It's (y/n)."
"Wow, that's a beautiful name," Luke offered you a bright smile, "Listen, I'm running kind of late to meet up with Leia and Han, but I'd love to catch dinner with you."
"Y-you... you want to get dinner... with me?"
Luke nodded, watching your shocked expression with a silly little smirk that only made your heartbeat even faster than it already was. Your mind was screaming with hundred of thoughts, and all you could manage was a nod and smile to confirm with Luke that you would join him for dinner.
"Great! I'll meet you here, around seven," Luke smiled once more, turning to leave, "See you later, (Y/n)."
"Yea," You breathed out quietly, still in shock of everything that had just happened.
How the hell were you going to explain Luke meeting you for dinner to your coworkers? You would explain by not explaining. That seemed like the best option to you as you allowed yourself a small happy giggle before resuming work. You were having dinner with the Luke Skywalker, and it would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Warnings: mention of reader's mom leaving, fluff, medic!fem!reader

A/N: Hello lovely! I'm sorry this is a bit short. Your other requests are currently under way, and should be up soon! Thank you for this request, this prompt was fun to think for since there was so many options to write! I hope you enjoy!!
Summary: Luke and you are best friends exploring the base on your day off, when one of his biggest secrets is revealed.
(gif not mine!)
Where was there to begin with Luke Skywalker? You suppose you could start at the literal beginning. He was your best friend ever since the moment his X-Wing crash-landed on your home planet. It was hard to miss the X-Wing plummeting towards the ground, so you found him fairly quickly and took him back to your home. You stitched up and used bacta spray for his many injuries while he rambled to you.
"I just didn't notice that the fuel tank sprang a leak.." He mumbled as you dabbed away the blood on his forehead, "I blame R2 for not noticing."
The blue and white droid beeped angrily from beside Luke, rolling forward to nudge his knee and make Luke chuckle. He had spent a full week at your place. "Healing" was his excuse for staying so long, though he had fully healed after only three days. He told you all about his adventures with the Rebellion, how he had saved Princess Leia and met this "really annoying guy and this awesome Wookie" while doing so. He told you all about how he grew up on a small farm on Tatooine and helped destroy the Death Star.
It was then that Luke proposed you come back with him, come back and join the Rebellion to be a medic for them. You had immediately disagreed, protesting that you couldn't leave your life that you had there. The droid you soon came to love, R2-D2, had boldly pointed out that you didn't have much of a life there, and you... though reluctant, agreed to go back with Luke.
You even opened up yourself. You told Luke about your life as a local medic, how your mom had trained you before she disappeared. You told him about how you'd serviced many different life-forms and that he was by far the most talkative, not that you minded. It was often tiresome for you with silent patients... and well... it was often lonely for you since you didn't have any friends.
The rest was history. You two were inseparable after you joined the Rebellion. When he wasn't on missions, Luke was following you around in med-bay. On your days off, you'd both be either in the hangar or walking around base together. Han Solo was relentless in teasing the two of you, but Chewie would often defend you, quickly making Han go quiet. But Han was usually right. Anyone with eyes could see that Luke and you were madly in love.
Days off were always your favorite because you and Luke would often sneak off to be alone together, talking about anything and everything while you explored. Much like you were currently doing. You both were walking around the base, Luke rambling about his latest mission while you listened, silently admiring all the trees.
"Hey, Luke?" You asked when he stopped talking.
"Yes?"
"I think you need a break from missions."
"What?! No!" Luke replied immediately, glaring at you, "I love missions!"
"I know you do," You laughed as you turned to walk backward, "But you allow yourself to get too worked up about them. You need to re- ah!"
Leave it to you to trip while walking backward...
You yelped as you flailed your arms out for Luke, desperate to break your fall, though it never came. You were so shocked about falling you had completely missed the fact that your feet had left the ground, that you were hovering slightly as an invisible force held you up. Your eyes flew to Luke, who had an arm outstretched, focusing on lowering you to the ground safely.
"You're a Jedi!" Luke's face scrunched up as you began to shout at you, "You can use the force!? You told me you didn't know about that!"
"Surprise?" Luke attempted lamely.
"Why would you lie to me?"
Luke's face immediately dropped into a pout as he defended himself, "It wasn't my choice! I can't go around telling everyone I'm a Jedi, and besides, I figured if you didn't know, you'd be safer. I'm... I'm sorry (y/n) I should've told you."
"Damn right, you should've told me!" You huffed while swatting his arm, "You've been my best friend for nearly two years and failed to tell me the biggest thing about yourself!"
Luke sighed, grabbing your wrist as you went to swat him again and pulling you closer to him, "I was afraid you wouldn't like me.. that you wouldn't want to be my friend anymore."
"Luke... this doesn't change anything. I'll always love you."
No! Shit! You didn’t really just say that did you!
Your eyes widened significantly at your slip up, "Y-you love me?"
You bit your lip before deciding to mock him from earlier, "Surprise?"
"Oh, thank god!" Luke smiled, pulling you flush into his chest, "I love you too... Maker, I've been waiting so long to say that."
You smiled, your arms sliding around his waist, "Funny how things work out. You tell me you're a Jedi, and I tell you I love you."
"I like the way things work out," Luke's smile matched yours as he gazed at you.
"Me too... now let's continue talking about that break you need."
