Gaia: Luke Jerram at Peterborough Cathedral
Lullaby - Luke Jerram.
I love the idea of moving art being explored across not just human movement, but mass contraption movement, with tons of people on bikes with fluorescent colours lighting up the night. It’s so simple and yet visually spectacular, as its variety of light that is displaced over time and shown to be a myriad, which is calming and energising simultaneously, which as an art form usually are two mutually exclusive things, when expressing emotion. From different perspective you can fell lulled by the performance and its cascading colours or from another angle be enriched with the vividity of the bold shapes and colours woven through the continuous movement. Overall it’s a spectacle that is simply achieved and giving an awesome effect.

Na de vorige editie, weten jullie nog, Museum of the Moon, kijk even naar mijn video : https://youtu.be/jqQXXC1rhlQis Luke Jerram terug in Mechelen geweest met zijn nieuwste bol, namelijk de aarde. Artwork by @lukejerramartist When I started to respond to the Covid 19 lockdown I came across the stunning glass artwork of @lukejerramartist He has created glass images of many different viruses - beautiful but deadly. This is his Coronavirus cell which at 23cm in diameter is about 2 million times the size of the real virus cell. It was discovering Luke’s work that inspired me to create my own virus cell artwork - although very different in collage and embroidery rather than glass! His work is beautiful and not only about viruses so definitely worth taking a look. #artistresearch #lukejerram #strodefad #strodecollege #strodecollegeartdepartment #covid19 #coronavirus #lockdown #collage #embroidery #fmp #finalmajorproject https://www.instagram.com/p/CAM3RL-lXRq/?igshid=56u4xn4zh4rx
