“Chocolate?” The witch spoke with a quirk of an eye brow, offering the open bag of strawberry chocolates over to Remus, fresh out of Sugarplum’s sweet shop. “Now they’re my favourite so I hope you fully appreciate the amount of love this really is coming from me here.” Marlene teased a smile on her face as she handed the bag of treats over to him. “Now I’ve been having a think, a general ponder if you will, about your love life. Clearly as the boys have been failing you miserably as wing men; my offer to be your personal wing woman still very much stands.” The witch offered, popping one of the chocolates from her hand into her mouth as they strolled. “And before you say no just listen. Remus John Lupin, if anyone deserves to find someone, even just a glimmer of something; then you are one of the most deserving. And don’t make me punch you saying the sweets have made me soft.” Marlene spoke with a kind smile as she glanced up at him by her side. Maybe of all the four boys, Remus was always the one that Marlene was softer around. While she’d have no issue punching any of the others, rightfully she might add - they normally deserved it, putting words to action were never really in the question with Remus in Marlene’s mind. They were merely words of jest. “Besides I have to live vicariously through someone else while my love life is the travesty it currently is.” The witch teased nudging him lightly. “So what do you say?”

It was the time of year that called for shopping. Shops lined themselves with festive décor, red and green tinsel displayed in the windows along with their latest seasonal deals. Having been away from home for a while, he found himself stuck on what to get for his parents-- he didn’t know what they had already or what they wanted, and perhaps that’d been because of his dedication to his work hindering his personal life. But if there was anything he did know, it’s that you could never go wrong with sweets. Browsing the shelves of Sugarplum’s, Ted carefully plucked two bars off of the shelves. Perfect, he thought. Something his parents would enjoy without the worry of something explosive foiling their merry day. Wizarding confectionary always did have a habit of packing a punch.

Not everyone appeared to be engrossed in the Christmas cheer, he couldn’t help but notice. He caught a only a glimpse through the shop’s window, and maybe it was just him overthinking, but he felt something was off. Once he’d purchased all he needed, Ted approached the man with a friendly smile. “Me mum always said there’s nothin’ chocolate can’t ‘elp fix.” He began, extending one of the bars out for him. “Y’ look like y’ could use it, fella.”

Wrapping the blanket around her head, a puff of air fell of Marlene’s lips as she shifted where she sat on Remus’ bed. Admittedly, Marlene did wonder whether the friendship group were taking it in turns to watch over the distressed girl. No doubt tasked by Lily. Marly knew rationally they were coming from a place of kindness and concern because she would have been doing exactly the same. But it was difficult for her almost goblin like state to fully comprehend it. Though even the witch had to admit, that the company was welcomed. After days of hollowing herself up in her room with failed attempts at trying to distract herself from the turmoil and nightmares gracing her eye lids; perhaps company was exactly was she needed. 

A small muttered falling off her lips before she moved over to break off another small bit of chocolate to pop into her mouth. “Thank you.” Marly spoke quietly as she caught a glimpse of the male coming back into his room. “For putting up with me like this.” The brunette spoke as her eyes drew to her lap, features sunken and far from the usual teasing playful expression that graced her delicate features. “If my mother saw me like this-..” Shaking her head lightly as her mind drew back to the french woman. “She’d be uttering something under her breath in french, probably pinch my cheeks to get a little colour into them. No doubt force me to drink some of sleeping potion-” Her voice went quiet for a moment as she wrapped the blanket that little bit tighter around herself. “- some how it always seems worse after you take one. It’s like- you can’t escape from your own nightmares.”

Visiting the ministry was one of the last things that Sersh wanted to do right about now. It was almost like she could still hear the music playing circles in her mind. If she closed her eyes long enough she knew she could detail it. Flowing gowns, the disapproving looks of purists far too up their own arse to appreciate art and.. the screams. It sent a small shiver up the back of her spike and knew it was a feeling she wouldn’t be able to shake. Out of her group, Saorise was putting on the brave face. Her sister was in pieces at loosing a best friend and as much as she didn’t get along with Cecelia; Sersh dreaded to think how she was coping. Saorise was an observer and it was clear just from their mannerisms, if not the swarms of aurors lingering around that the ministry was still on high alert. It was only then she heard the voice at turned to see the male. He looked familiar, probably from school no doubt. “Sorry I didn’t catch ye-, what did ye say?” Though she paused for a minute, stepping up on her tip toes to glance at the scene before them before turning her attention back to Remus. “I just wanted to leave these here-.. ye don’t suppose I could wiggle me way through before an auror noticed? Or if there is a place we can put ‘em?” The witch spoke holding up the sunflowers in her hand. It wasn’t the most traditional flower to lay, but she’d have liked to think Booker would have smiled at it.
