The people who stay are the ones you should hold close, forget the people who leave you. The reason they left doesn't matter, the reason people stay does.

I couldn’t live without you. Well… I could, like I could still breathe and shit. But I don’t want to. So don’t make me.

So proud. Yesterday, Kaelyn finished Vet School. No more finals. No more mid-terms. No more late night Skype calls helping her study, reminding her to stay calm, reassuring her that everything is going to be alright. No more lying awake at night worrying about her safety, about who she’s driving home with, about whether she’s going to get home alright. 2013 brings more hardship, but for now, both of us get a break. There’s so much more to come. We have clinics to get through - and yes, that’s a ‘we,’ not a ‘she.’ We’re in this together, Kae and I. We’re in this for the long haul. When I first met Kae, she was a smart, enthusiastic, adorable 22 year old with a passion for animals and a 2 year stint at Vet School on a tiny island ahead of her. Now, the Kaelyn I know is a very different one. She has become, not someone else, but rather, a better version of what she already was. She is poised, intelligent, thoughtful, and mature. She is loving, compassionate, compelling to listen to and even more so to watch. This is the girl I know and love. I am forever proud of who she has become, and, of course, who she is yet to become. I love you, doc.
