I’m so glad you enjoy my posts about Iyami!!! I have such a big soft spot for him, he’s been my favorite fictional character for four years now! He’s a terrible, terrible man, really, but he’s funny and charming, comes with a ton of lore™️ and whenever his (very well hidden) good heart makes an appearance, you know you’re in for a very emotional story...

I’ll admit I stay so much in my little corner over here, I don’t really know what’s going on in the other parts of the fandom most of the time, but I’m glad my posts have brought you some relief from what‘s happening in the matsusphere, heh. I’ll probably always have something or another about Iyami to babble about, so feel free to browse my tags anytime you want!

It’s like when people call something Orwellian or Shakespearean, it’s a form of shorthand used to describe various themes you might notice in a piece of art. So if we commonly associate themes like dread, subversion of expectations, and surrealism with Lynch, you could describe just about anything with those same themes as “Lynchian.”

Things I think are Lynchian would be like, Silent Hill, Perfect Blue, Donnie Darko, and that Possession movie. Francis Bacon and Rene Margritte paintings.

These are helpful terms I think! I have trouble finding the exact words to express what I mean sometimes and these shorthand words are helpful when trying to express the overall “vibe” of a piece without having to say much.
