A Brief Overview of How The Hellcrew Came to Be:

Julius is main character of The Hellcrew Project and is the leader of The Hellcrew. He was born as a human on December 24, 1874 and died at 11:07pm on December 24, 1898 when his sister, Annabella, shot him in the face (upper right cheekbone; right below the eye) at close range. On January 8, 1899, Julius was brought back to life as an immortal demon (specifically an incubus). Additionally, seven of those who he had killed during his life as a human were brought back as demons to serve him eternally: Killian, Nevan, Sullivan, Rian, Luce, Duvessa, and Kelly.

Three additional members joined The Hellcrew through different means roughly two decades later: Devlin, Cian and Octavian. The reason the three turned to demons after their own deaths is due to the cause of their death having a correlation to their father's demonic markings. Devlin and Octavian, both who are Julius’ biological sons, ‘died’ from an injury to the heart. Due to Julius' demonic marking being a heart (located in the place of the bullet that killed him), none of Julius’ children from his time as a human can die in a manner that's caused directly by the heart; and instead will go on to become demons. Cian, who is Killian's biological son and eldest child, ‘died’ from hanging himself. Due to Killian's own death-marking (the scar on his neck), it resulted in Cian becoming a demon (for the same reasons as listed above).

Regarding Ages:

All members of The Hellcrew are age-locked/frozen at the age they were when they died. In terms of years since birth, they are all well over 100 years old. Their locked ages are:

An Overview Regarding the Relationships of The Hellcrew Members:

The different relationships between members of The Hellcrew are rather complex. Some of them have let go of the past and moved on entirely, some of them still hold resentments from the past. Some of them feel differently about other members now than they did as humans and/or when they initially came back, and some still feel the same. Certain relationships have changed so vastly that they're no longer recognizable (Julius’ relationship with Devlin and Octavian being the prime example). Some of them have had romantic relationships with other members in the past, some of them have centered relationships with members – and all of them have had a sexual relationship with at least one other member of The Hellcrew (though in many cases, more than one).

Regarding the current romantic relationships in The Hellcrew:

Julius and Killian are married & quite literally soulmates.

Devlin and Cian are still boyfriends but may as well be married. They are also quite literally soulmates.

Octavian and Sullivan consider themselves as life partners – not married though with that same level of commitment.

Nevan and Duvessa are in a relationship, but it's not the healthiest one and more so something that's mutually beneficial and based on appearances (Nevan) and obsession (Duvessa), than it is love.

Rian, Kelly, and Luce are all single.

Regarding Families in The Hellcrew:

The Doherty Family:

Julius and Rian are biological brothers. By date of birth, Rian is about 1.5 years younger than Julius and by age lock, Rian is roughly 4 years and 2 months younger).

Octavian and Devlin are biological brothers and Julius’ biological sons. By date of birth, Octavian is roughly 11 months older than Devlin and by age lock, Octavian is roughly 2 years older than Devlin.

Julius was a very awful father to Octavian and Devlin (and his younger two children as well though he was hardly in their lives). As a human, Julius abandoned his family only a few weeks prior to his death. When Devlin joined The Hellcrew, he and Julius made up relatively fast, and decided to start fresh – as brothers (twin brothers, since they're both age locked at 24). Octavian joined, he was extremely happy to be reunited with Devlin and surprisingly Julius as well. Octavian immediately wanted a fresh start with Julius as well, and accepted Julius as his younger brother. Octavian and Devlin both see and think of Julius like a brother, and Julius sees and thinks of them as brothers. Octavian does still have a lot of memories of Julius when he was his father though, and isn't able to fully delude himself into genuinely believing Julius is his brother – whereas Devlin and Julius have fully deluded themselves into believing they really are brothers. Similarly, it's a bit more difficult for Julius to fully delude himself into believing that Octavian is his brother.

Julius and Rian never got along – or more accurately, Julius didn't like Rian from day one because Rian took his place as the baby in the family (when they are humans), meanwhile Rian has always been desperate to be close with Julius and has always looked up to him. Though Julius was initially upset by the fact Rian came back as a demon and he remained bothered by it for a long time, going as far as to try to fully exclude Rian from the relationship between himself, Devlin and Octavian. Despite this, Octavian and Devlin still thought of Rian as a younger brother, and Rian quickly came to see them as older brothers as well. Octavian always has gone out of his way to be kind to Rian and to spend time with him. Devlin was never mean to him but he ultimately took Julius’ side. However, in the past 20 years or so, Julius has finally started to come around regarding Rian. Though Rian is still left out at times and Julius still can be very mean to him at times too, the two of them have become much closer (to Rian's happiness) and Rian is much more often included when Julius, Devlin and Octavian are hanging out together. Devlin has warmed up to Rian at the rate Julius has (he mirrors Julius a lot).

Octavian and Devlin have always had a very close relationship – to the extent it's very codependent and, in many aspects, extremely unhealthy (not to mention the fact in many ways it's outright inappropriate). They are very attached to each other and have been their entire lives. Unsurprisingly, they do fight a lot (they're biological brothers who grew up together, after all – not to mention they are both very hot headed and quick to anger; it just runs in the family) but they also get over it and make up extremely quickly.

The Lynch Family:

Killian and Cian have an incredibly odd and (quite frankly) inappropriate and uncomfortable relationship. By date of birth, Killian is only 13 years and 1 month older than Cian. By age lock, Cian is roughly 5 years older than Killian.

Their relationship has never remotely resembled one of a parent and a child. Killian was not in Cian's life until shortly after Cian’s 13th birthday. The only reason Killian became a part of Cian's life is because Cian ran away from home (Dublin, Ireland) and went to find Killian (in Boston, MA, USA). Cian was being abused by his step father and couldn't take it anymore. He desperately wanted to go find Killian because of the fantasy Cian had long since held about how Killian would be. Cian had long since had an obsession with Killian and planned on finding him one day, however it was when he was 10 that he found out just who exactly his father was (Killian Lynch, that he had moved to Boston a few years ago and since become the boss of the Irish Boston Mob) that Cian truly became obsessed with finding Killian and began planning his escape.

Though Killian immediately accepted Cian upon meeting him (“he's a lil’ serial killer, I fuckin’ love this kid hahaha!”) and took Cian under his wing, it was immediately painfully obvious to Cian that Killian did not see him as his son, and worse yet, Cian realized just as fast that he did not see Killian as a father.

Cian never once has referred to Killian as, “dad,” or anything along those lines. Killian used to refer to Cian as, “my son,” when Cian was much younger and Killian was initially introducing him to everyone in the mob – as Cian was going to be (and would become) the heir to it. Given Killian's involvement in organized crime and that Cian wanted to be involved (though initially Killian wasn't sure about it, he did quickly change his mind), it's only natural that Cian would take over after Killian either passed away or stepped down. Neither of them expected it to be within only 6 months of Cian coming into his life – leaving Cian as the mob boss at merely 13 years old.

After Killian returned as a demon (about a month after his passing), he returned to Cian's life and continued to raise (“raise”) him. Since Cian had been managing in his position as the mob boss shockingly well and had already earned a helluva lot of respect (even from enemies) but was feared just as much, Killian let him continue on rather than try to take full control back though he did help out Cian quite a bit behind the scenes.

Ultimately, their relationship has always been one that resembles friends, brothers, mentorship, and some really weird fourth thing. It's a can of festering worms (and I am not looking forward to opening it.)

Clarification About Cian and Devlin’s relationship:

No, their relationship is not remotely close to incest. They are not step brothers, and they were not raised together. They did not meet until Cian was 29 and Devlin was 20 (when they were humans), and without any influence through Julius and Killian. Devlin knew that Cian was Killian's son, and was aware that Julius and Killian were more than friends to an extent (he and Octavian – in their mid teens – had found read Julius' old diaries and as well as old pictures of Julius and Killian), he wasn't sure the extent and believed both Killian and Julius were long since dead.

Though Cian knew that Julius and Killian were both alive and together, he couldn't tell Devlin, and furthermore, he was fully unaware that Devlin was Julius' son (he thought Julius had no children) especially since Devlin made it very clear that he did not want to talk about his family beyond his brother Octavian. Cian also didn't tell Killian and Julius about his relationship with Devlin and while it was obvious to them that Cian had found someone and was happy, neither of them pushed it.

It wasn't until both Cian had joined the Hellcrew, and then Devlin as well a few years after Cian, did all four of them (Cian, Devlin, Julius and Killian) realize everything. Devlin fell over and Cian face-palmed, but Julius and Killian both thought it was high key funny though – since Cian and Devlin are like them (Killian and Julius) in so many ways. It never has been awkward though, given not only had Cian and Devlin met on their own as adults, but also because Julius and Devlin see each other as brothers, and Killian and Cian definitely don't have any sort of father-son relationship.

*With all that information in mind, if you genuinely believe their relationship is 'step brother incest,' then you are so severely lacking in understanding basic nuance and basic media literacy that you should not be touching The Hellcrew Project with a 10 foot pole. Let me be clear: there is incest in The Hellcrew Project; this is NOT one of those cases. And to further be clear: I will never glamorize or fetishize incest; the incest in The Hellcrew Project is MEANT to be disturbing and to portray how disgusting and wrong it is.

Regarding overall friendships in The Hellcrew:

The Hellcrew can be broken down into 4 smaller groups when it comes to friendships/who sticks together:

Julius, Killian, Cian and Devlin (all live together in Julius’ building)

Rian, Kelly, and Nevan (all live together in Rian's building)

Octavian and Sullivan (live together in Sullivan’s building)

Duvessa and Luce (Luce used to live in Rian's building but now lives in Sullivan's building with Sullivan, Octavian and Duvessa; sometimes Duvessa will stay over at Rian’s building though, since she's with Nevan)

Obviously, there are many cross over friendships, such as:

Julius and Nevan, who are extremely close friends (they first met during their time at the asylum when Julius was 15 and Nevan was 16 and quickly became close; though they lost touch for a while after Julius left the asylum, they immediately were back to being friends after Nevan immigrated to Boston roughly a year after Julius), and the relationship between the Doherty brothers (they like to have slumber parties a few times a month), as well as Sullivan and Nevan's friendship (they initially bonded due to them both being the only members in Hellcrew who aren’t fully ethnically Irish – Sullivan is half Chinese and Nevan is half Russian), Killian and Kelly's friendship (Kelly and Killian met shortly after Killian arrived in America and though Kelly introduced Killian to the mob, it was Killian who rose up though Kelly remains his right-hand man), Killian and Octavian’s friendship (they like to meme together), Sullivan’s friendship with Duvessa (they like getting done up together), and Kelly being a ‘cool uncle’ figure to Cian ever since they met. Cian (oddly enough) tends to get along with mostly everyone (except for Duvessa and Luce, he hates Luce with good reason, and Duvessa annoys him to no end – though he should hate her as well). Julius gets along with everyone to some extent even if he's not close with them and even if they hate him (with the exception of Duvessa, and even though he really should hate Luce).

Additionally, there are a lot of issues between members of the Hellcrew. Duvessa and Luce are both pretty extensively excluded by the rest of The Hellcrew:

Duvessa has a hard time fitting in because she's the only woman in Hellcrew but that's not only reason why – despite it being rarely acknowledged by anyone (not even Cian himself), she did groom Cian beginning shortly after he showed up, back when Duvessa was still a human. Their ‘relationship’ was off and on, ending for good when Cian decided he was completely done with her after she attempted to baby trap him (Cian raised the kid by himself, and did a damn good job just like with the rest of his children that he raised). Though Cian doesn't believe he was groomed by her, and many of the other Hellcrew members either don't see it as grooming (their reasoning being, “grown women can't groom teenage boys, teenage boys love it,” – which is 1) obviously very false and gross to think 2) them coping with their own trauma by not acknowledging it, and if they acknowledged she groomed Cian, then they would have to acknowledge that their own ‘relationships’ when they were teenage boys with adult women was actually abuse – which obviously, it was.)

Duvessa hates Julius, partially because he is with Killian (and Duvessa is infatuated with Killian, has been since the day they met – but Killian was only ever using her, and she was the first victim of many victims to Killian's sex trafficking ‘business,’ only to then become an accomplice in it), but also because of the fact Julius killed her (and deliberately did it Killian-style, at that). She also hates Rian because she doesn't like how close he and Nevan are, especially how ‘touchy-feely’ Rian is towards Nevan. (And…she's caught them naked in bed together a few times.) She hates Devlin, too, because he's with Cian (who she's still obsessed with). The rest of the Hellcrew she has generally neutral feelings about.

Luce is excluded because he groomed and abused Julius, Nevan and Cian. Julius is quite nice to Luce though, as not only is Julius still fully in denial of the reality of his ‘relationship’ with Luce (he's still convinced it was consensual as can't bring himself to acknowledge it was abuse; doing so would break him even more than he already is. When others have tried to explain it to him, Julius completely breaks down, freaks out, and runs off to Luce for reassurance that they're lying to him). Though Julius’ kindness towards Luce makes Nevan and Cian both deeply uncomfortable, they both care too much about Julius to say anything. Cian also hasn't told anyone about the abuse Luce put him through, Devlin is the only one who knows and it's only because Cian accidentally told him while drunk – and doesn't remember telling him. Though Cian is highly distressed by the PTSD he has from it, he refuses to let it show – and especially not to Luce. Nevan, meanwhile, became the emotional void he is due to the constant abuse Luce put him through from when he first got to the asylum at 11, until he escaped before turning 18. Though Nevan is usually completely unaffected by it to the point he can be around Luce and even casually talk with him, every once in a blue moon, it will all come crashing down on him and Nevan will just completely fall apart for a bit. The most severe instance of this was after Nevan found out that Duvessa often cheated on him with Luce, and that Luce had also told her about what he'd done to Nevan long before Nevan and Duvessa were together (yet Duvessa still began dating Nevan and remained friends/fuck buddies with Luce). It was after he found out about that, which led to Nevan breaking down (and Rian had to resort to getting Killian involved to get Nevan out of the bathroom he'd locked himself in), and Nevan proceeded to word-vomited about it all to both Killian and Rian, which ultimately resulted in Luce being (literally) kicked out (violently) of Rian's building (courtesy of the little gremlin himself).

Luce really hates Killian, as he's convinced himself that Killian made Julius kill him about 1.5 years after Julius left the asylum (he knows deep down that Julius wanted to kill him but tries to ignore that). Also, Luce hates Killian since Killian always was the one who has had Julius’ heart. (Luce never saw anything wrong with his ‘relationship' with Julius, despite Julius merely 15 and literally being less than half Luce’s age at the time – which is the result of Luce having been groomed when he was Julius’ age at the time (15) by a man in his mid-30’s, and Luce never coming to terms with the fact that his own ‘relationship’ as a teen with a grown man was actually abuse. Not an excuse, just an explanation. Thankfully, Julius never went on to continue that cycle.)

Kelly only gets along with Luce (to a degree) because he's still unaware of what Luce did to Nevan (only Julius, Rian, and Killian are aware of it through Nevan's terms, Cian knows because he can just tell from the behaviors, and obviously Duvessa knows because Luce told her) and he's also unaware about what Luce did to Cian. The reason he doesn't take issue with what Luce did to Julius is because, “well, Julius says it wasn't traumatic and that he wanted it so who am I to say otherwise?” (Kelly isn't the sharpest tool and genuinely has no concept of consent thanks to his upbringing then the lifestyle he got into after escaping the hell of the basement he spent the first 16 years of his life in. Not an excuse, just an explanation).

Sullivan tends to exclude themselves willingly, they aren't a big people person to begin with. Sullivan hates Julius and Killian (because Julius and Killian tortured and Killian Sullivan together), though they hate Killian even more than Julius (because despite Julius being the one who goaded Killian into committing the murder in what would become Killian's ‘signature style,’ Killian was the one who actually did it. The reason that Sullivan is seen as a victim of Julius' and not Killian's is because Killian wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for Julius). Initially Sullivan hated Cian and Devlin because not only did the two remind Sullivan of Julius and Killian (both personality and appearance wise), the two are also very close with Julius and Killian. Though. Sullivan has since come are quite a bit as far as Devlin and Cian. They made the effort for Octavian because they know how close he is with Devlin. Though Sullivan is not going to spend time with Devlin and/or Cian on their own accord and definitely not unless Octavian is also there, they are comfortable with Devlin and Cian.

Nevan and Killian do not get along in the slightest, even though one would think they’d be quite good friends…they are anything but. Because Nevan and Killian are so similar yet so different (almost like mirrors of each other, with one of the mirrors flipped upside-down), they really clash and butt heads constantly. They will literally change their entire opinion on things before they will agree (at least usually). Also, Nevan is very jealous that Killian is with Julius, given he's had quite the thing for Julius since back when they met at the asylum. Killian hates Nevan because Julius has cheated on him with Nevan on several occasions (though all occasions were after Killian had done something to seriously and rightfully anger Julius, plus Killian is not remotely faithful to Julius – at least physically, though he's emotionally faithful –so Killian doesn't really have that much room to be that mad about it). However…there was one occasion that Killian and Nevan did get into a fight, which turned into hate sex. (Okay, it was three occasions.) Julius was only mad because he wasn't included in it.

The reason for Nevan's death was because he (unwillingly) got caught between Julius and Killian having a bullshit fight (similar to how Kelly died, too), and though Killian was the one who pulled the trigger in this case, it once again fell on being Julius as the one who caused it, since it's his fault Nevan got caught in the middle and Julius also told Killian (who has had the gun pointed at Julius' head and his finger on the trigger), “don't aim the gun if you aren't gonna pull the trigger, pussy. You're a pussy, PUSSY, PUSSY, PUSSY!” only for Killian to, at the last second, point the gun at Nevan instead and blast him repeatedly right in the stomach. It was a long and painful death. So Nevan is understandably still pissed at Killian over that (though he never puts any of the blame on Julius, even though he should).

One of the reasons Rian is salty towards Julius, is because Julius is with Killian – and Rian has had a crush on Killian since forever (ever since Rian was 14 or so). Killian – who was 19 at that time – found out and thought it was ‘adorable’ but in the manner one finds a puppy with big eyes following you around to be adorable. Right off the bat, Killian made it very clear to Rian, “yer way too fuckin’ young for me, lil buddy haha” and to this day he still continues making it clear that it is never going to happen (he knows how much it would hurt Julius if were to mess around with Rian; that wouldn't be something Julius would get over and it would always be in the back of his mind). But still, Rian’s crush on Killian remains…

Though there's someone else who Rian is completely head-over-heels for these days (and now has been for a long time), but unfortunately, said person is currently taken. And Rian’s hatred for Duvessa definitely has nothing to do with who that person he's in love with is…totally not…(it definitely has to with it, and, spoiler alert, but Duvessa is not the only who's he's after). Another reason that Rian hates Julius isn't because Julius laced poison into the cocaine he gave Rian (with the intent and outcome of killing him), but because he got dragged back from death thanks to Julius’ choice to make a deal with Satan and become a demon.
