I hope this doesn’t come off as anything unpleasant—please tell me if it does—but I’m just now realizing all of the off things that Jojo has done, and I’d like to know more about it. I’ve only noticed the mocking of furries and otherkin in Jojo’s rules post myself, so everything else is quite new. After doing a few minutes of digging I’ve seen what people have said about Jojo’s pluralphobia and how she was sort of… forcing?— Found it okay to point out that the Chain all have ladies as love interests. Is it okay if you could tell me or direct me to any other instances where she’s cruel to less common identities? I understand that this is a tiring subject and I’m not entitled to your assistance, so please don’t feel forced to :]! I just feel like it’s about time I open my eyes a little more for this fandom. Currently, the instances of the comments on furries, her transphobic and queerphobic comments, pluralphobic comments, and whitewashing are all I have access to to give proof of.
Other issues I witnessed were a long time ago but it was the instance of her throwing a tantrum in the LinkedUniverse server when people started shipping Warrs/Twi due to their apparent rivalry that she had mentioned. This tantrum included her threatening to completely change their dynamic in its entirety just to keep people from shipping it. This I have no proof of, as it was a long time ago now, and I stay far far away from the LU server.
Mainly her behavior seems to revolve around making sly comments about various queer identites, while also queerbaiting within the comic itself (ie, Hyrule's "crop top"/binder, and the comic involving the Gerudo outfit of Wild's, as well as her erasing a number of traditionally feminine features of the Links.)
She makes inappropriate comments about the Link/Link ship at incredibly random times, calling it pervy, feeling the need to make a jab at the Vidow ship, which she did in the most recent update within her explanation of the Four Sword, and her tantrum at the Warrs/Twi ship.
Any other instances of comments on marginalized identities, I cant really say. Some I have no proof of, others I can give you full screenshots. For the most part, the behaviors that can be given full examples of are what you've already seen. I'd have to do more digging and currently, my phone cannot do that and I do not have a working computer that could handle going through archives.
And yes you are correct. Being critical and aware of the behaviors of a creator is good honestly. I posted this the other day but, it is okay to still love this comic and these Links. These are still our boys and it is still okay to love them. The creator being a bigoted piece of shit doesnt mean you cannot enjoy something that makes you happy. The only thing I think you should think of is whether or not youll continue to show support for her from here on out.
