Improving Child Nutrition
Better nutrition of our K12 students makes for greater student achievement. Especially with the renewed debate on school lunch debt, it’s important to take a good look at our students’ nutrition.
Education Week recognizes Bertrand Weber from Minneapolis public schools as a 2014 Leader To Learn From for improving child nutrition. Having faced the challenge of completely converting a school-based food experience for students, Weber is revolutionizing student nutrition in this sizable school district. He’s even fully outfitted a food truck to deliver free breakfast and lunch to kids 18 and younger in four impoverished neighborhoods in Minneapolis and made reduced price meals available to parents.
