Let's talk about Transcendence
Shall we now? Popular literature, by that I mean Immanuel Kant and his definition of transcendence, states that transcendence is something that goes beyond any possible knowledge of a human being. In other words, for all "Fullmetal Alchemist" fans out there, remember when Ed fell through the gate of knowledge and felt like his head was going to explode from overflow of information? That's precisely it.
So on a lovely and cold Saturday evening, a group of my friends decided to attend a psytrance show (there's something attractive about psytrance, especially on LSD. For me at least). Fast forward a couple hours in, my brain decides to take me on a journey. It started off by me being able to visualise music in 3D; if the artist had some sort of visual inspiration for creating his music, I was able to see it. The visuals were mainly in a form of colour changing to the beat, physical wavelengths of the music, and the uplifting mood switches in between. First time experiencing this was pretty cool!
Now fast forward another hour and it hits me. It started off from an aerial view of our planet that kept on going further away into space to a point where all I saw was stars and a dark sky. If I were to describe it, it felt like I was a shooting star, or a flying asteroid. Eventually I fly through the clouds and hit a surface, and at this point I realize that I'm seeing the beginning of life on earth. Started off from singular organism that kept on developing into more sophisticated creatures. Eventually I got to the modern day society and that's where things got even more interesting; I saw the cycle of life and the meaning of it (in my perspective). I understood the concept so popular in psychedelic culture of "universe is inside you", which I can only describe to one of Rick and Morty episodes of multi-universes inside the battery. I interpreted the meaning of life as a continuous drive towards a scientific discovery, which will probably kick-start the next cognitive and social revolution in humanity. That humans find different reasons to strive forward and make sense of life, but also that humans mainly follow the standards that were set by society. That it's very hard to know what makes us individually happy and it's hard to separate ourselves from the society; those who do, get looked at weirdly.
It was quite an experience and a hell of a ride, experiencing it for the first time was very enlightening and it deeper strengthened my current outlook on life: the beauty is in simplicity. I wouldn't say that it was scary, I was seeing all that only when I closed my eyes, and every time I opened my eyes I knew exactly who and where I was.
As per usual, be mindful and safe when taking your supplements of choice.
