He was so much more than an idol to me. People keep saying that he’s just a musician and that he was too week to handle everything life has put him through. To me, just as to millions of other people, he was the strongest person we could have ever known. The brightest, the most cheerful one. The one who pushed us to wake up in the mornings when we felt so miserable, so powerless. Chester Bennington was an inspiration to millions of people around the world. He left a legacy not just as an incredible musician but also as an outstanding person who has been fighting his demons for so many years. I will never see him as someone weak who chose to give up. Chester was and will always be the one who I’ll aspire to. We all have to stay strong, to live on and make our lives worth it. Because that’s what he taught us to do - to live on no matter what and enjoy our lives. Chester Bennington, thank you for all you’ve done. For being there when no one else was. For your incredible voice. For your diverse personality. Life won’t ever be the same without you. Hope, you’re in the better world now. And I am terribly sorry that you’ve been able to save millions of lives but those millions, including me, couldn’t save yours. You’re gone but never forgotten. Until we meet again. Diehard fan, M.

And yet... another piece of my soul has been taken, with the death of Chester Bennington. He sung like no other, with a haunting range of sounds and screams. Such a gifted soul, yet no one knew of his struggles & demons, to where the inevitable moment came that he decided to end his life. These types of deaths hit very close to home with me, as I lost my dad the same way. It leaves the ones that are left behind wondering... 'what could have been done to prevent this tragic action.' My heart & soul hurts.
