Some thoughts on DATV not that anyone cares lol
It largely feels like the role playing aspects of the game have been lobotomized from the previous games. All of the responses Rook can make in any given situation are essentially the same with a slightly different tone. (Aside from major decisions) And it sucks. I can't be mean no matter how hard I try. And I reloaded to try multiple times. The only real "mean" decision I got to make was to deck the first warden.
There's no real regard for your race/background despite the fact there very much should be. Even in the slave capital of Thedas, everyone treats my elven Rook with respect she hasn't earned. Everyone trusts Rook pretty much immediately when it doesn't make sense. The First Warden or whatever the fuck is the only one that seems to even remotely question "why are we listening to this lunatic claiming the elven gods are terrorizing northern Thedas?"
The game does not give a single solitary fuck about your choices in previous games except how they relate to solas and it fucking sucks. You can't even set who became Divine ffs. And where's morrigan's kid? She always had a kid in my DAI playthroughs (largely because I set my background once and was too lazy to do it again) but they don't even so much as mention him in Veilguard because you can't choose for him to exist.
And then there's the varric issue. Which I could bitch about for the next two hours because it's fucking stupid but I won't. I'm just gonna say the whole plot line is cheap and i hate it.
