I often get asked what my favorite wine is. I typically avoid answering that question…. Mostly because, the truth is, I don’t have a favorite ONE WINE. Generally, I prefer wines that taste like where they come from, wines that come with an interesting story, and wines that have a special significance. Context is key. This 2019 Dato’s Wine Korbidzeebis Family Cellar, Chkhaveri Rosé Guria, a surprise gift from a new friend, ticks all the boxes… (Thank you for the surprise gift Nicole! Loved it! ) 🙏 ❤️ 🍷 Kobidzeebis Family Cellar produces expressive natural wines using traditional Georgian qvevri with grapes from his family vineyard located in the Guria region in western Georgia, near the Black Sea. The late-ripening, pinkish-violet variety Chkhaveri originally was a “maghlari” wine, a vine trained to grow up trees, in order to combat high humidity. This wine is dark rosé in color; light and fresh in texture and flavors; full of wild berry aromas and flavors in the nose and in the palate, nice acidity with just a hint of underlying funky tartness. Delightful, easy to drink, with a long pleasant finish. Definitely recommend it! #winesfromgeorgia #lowintervention #chkhaveri #maghlari #oinoslogo #rosewine #datoswine #grateful #thankyou (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CopXYQ9rnSb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
