Mazonian nest-ox: Large herbivore. Travels in small family packs. Its shoulder spikes help it stand its ground and attracts mates. The wormsquitoes use its fatty hump as a home for their colonies.

Mazonian swarm-ox wormsquito: Small, flying omnivores. Eusocial. This species is highly specialized to make their colonies inside the nest-ox's anus and hump.

The 'squitoes protect their host and its family from harmful parasites and smaller threats, while the ox deters predators that would make a feast of the colony.

Since the ox's skin is so tough, the only way to enter and start tunneling is via its anus. An entrance that ends up resulting very beneficial to the 'squitoes, since they use the ox's feces to feed their larvae.

The colony starts to dig in when the ox is an adolescent, creating the base of what will be the nest.

General structure:

Rooms for the soldier wormsquitoes, they control who enters and who leaves.

Food storage and a room which connects to the nest-ox's rectum, to scavange what can be used of its feces to feed the larvae.

Rooms for the workers and larvae.

Queen's room, mother of all wormsquitoes in the colony. It is fattened by the workers and is unable to leave the room. Defended by faux rooms full of soldier 'squitoes.
