im gonna assume you already have forge, but if not, thats ok! theres a second tutorial on the readmore.
download the latest file from biomes you go, which is here: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/oh-the-biomes-youll-goor here: https://mcreator.net/modification/21622/oh-biomes-youll-go-5-new-update
then drag that biomes you go jar file to your mods folder in the .minecraft folder, which can be accessed by typing %appdata% in the searchbar of your com

anyways, download forge here! make sure you have the corresponding forge version to the mods you want to get https://files.minecraftforge.net/ !
once you open your download forge, a gui will pop up asking what client you want to download. unless youre hosting a modded server, just click install client.
once that’s downloaded, open your minecraft launcher and tab over to “launch options”. then, theres gonna be an (+) sign. click this!
once youre there, a versions option will pop up. it looks like this
click on the versions and scroll until you’ve found the forge version you downloaded. if it doesnt show up, try re-opening your minecraft launcher.
then press play. you dont have to load up any world or anything, you just have to be in the ingame menus and stuff. once there, exit minecraft and go to your searchbar.
type %appdata% and itll lead you to a folder. then, click the .minecraft folder. there, youll see a lot of different files and folders, but the one youre looking for is the one labeled “mods”.
i have my mods folder open while im downloading new mods, and same goes for biomes you go!
