Hi! I'm loving your blog so much (and the boys too obv!). Your analysis of their interactions make so much rational sense. I wish to add a thought of mine - since JM and JK do the whole 'you are me, I am you' bit - do you think 'Serendipity' was kind of a love letter from JM to JK? JM mentions in some Q&A video that for christmas etc. for the one he loves, he would gift a song to them. I full well know that RM wrote Serendipity's lyrics - and they allude to the Little Prince. Serendipity was released on Youtube dated 4th Sep 2017, but the date on video (possibly aired on SBS MTV TV??) was 1st Sep 2017. This may be a stretch, and of course their album was out in Mid-Sep 2017, but some sort of coincidence or dedication may have happened?
Hey anon. Love your question. I am actually working on my the 2017 timeline at the moment and will be sharing my thoughts about Serendipity.
To keep my answer here short, and to create anticipation for my timeline (lol), I do believe Serendipity has a very special meaning for JM and JK.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the date stamped on the MV is September 1st, that when the MV itself was released only a few days later. But then, JM says so in Serendipity, doesn’t he?
I know JM did not write the lyrics, although it is possible that RM asked for his input while working on the lyrics. But even if he had no input, clearly the lyrics and the song mean a lot to him. Thing is that the song means a lot to JK too.
The “I am you, you are me” line actually comes from a song released by Zico in early 2016. There are theories that Jikook used a reference from that songs MV (the band aids on their fingers) during a Puma fansign in April 2016. So, if this is true and the line had special meaning for them to start with, and it found it’s way into the song lyrics... feel free to make your conclusions...
OMG, this is me keeping it short. LOL.
So, yes,
I think Serendipity is very special to JM and JK.
I believe it was JM’s gift to JK for his birthday.
I believe the song is JM’s love ode to JK.
