Well, I’ve had quite an exciting day. I went into labor and mamma took me to the hospital to have the baby.

It was triplets!

Can you believe it?

From our list of names for girls I’ve picked Lois, Lillian, and Lynne. Your daughters! I’ll send pictures of them along with this letter.

I know that Louis Vecchio is based on a real person but for the sake of a save, let’s just disregard that for a second. Instead of being a lesser-known celebrity, he and the other members of his household are uni students who came together through progressive politics. Unlike other households, that live in worlds that strictly come with TS4, Louis resides in Academie Le Tour, which isn’t technically possible but you can just use your imagination.

New Politics @ Grace’s Secret Show 9.9.18

NYC never fails to disappoint on what magic is happening behind closed doors. Unsuspecting on this rainy Sunday in September, in the small back room of Grace’s in Chelsea, is a secret performance by Danish rock-pop-punk-electronic band, New Politics. Regularly sharing huge stages with bands by the likes of Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco and 30 Seconds to Mars, they used every inch of the room they could, frontman, David Boyd even pulling off some breakdancing, headstands, and crowdsurfing (despite the low ceilings).

Sitting down with Boyd and bandmates Søren Hansen and Louis Vecchio beforehand, they’re completing each other's sentences and cracking jokes, excited to be having out together again and for the set to follow. Boyd explains, “We’ve always wanted to do an acoustic thing like this, and we also really wanted to do something for our fans that was special. So many of them always come back so we wanted to give them something that was different.” Speaking to how they built their strong fan base, Boyd rightful says they’re proud of their hard work. While they may have toured with these influential bands and played huge music festivals, it wouldn’t have happened without their persistence. Hansen follows up, “We know we’re not the biggest band, but we definitely have the best fans.” Before playing, doors are opened to fans to chat with the band and take photos. The room came alive with conversation and laughter like old friends catching up.

As for the future of New Politics? Boyd tells me, “We’re at a place of reset. A lot of stuff is in our hands now. We have a chance to give our fans something new and for us to evolve and see what we’re really capable of.” Just a year off from their latest release Lost in Translation, no longer tied to any labels, they’re hard work on new material; a ton of it. Still unreleased, they’re trying to find a balance between the constant demand of output, via social media and the industry, as a requirement to stay relevant, while not sacrificing the quality of their work.

In the meantime they’ll be hitting the road again this fall, starting in November, eager to play in cities they’ve never been as well as to share the stage with The Score and Bikini Trill. Plus, they’re hoping to sneak in a few more of these special one-off acoustic shows along the way so keep your eyes peeled!
