Collie's eyes move to Barkovitch, anger bubbling below the surface. Here he was trying to be civil with his comment. A warning for Gary to get out of his goddamn face. He tried not to let the anger the best of him, he really did. His mother taught him better than that. His father told him it wasn't what a real man did. It didn't matter right now though because his father was dead and his mother was a million miles away. Fuck he wished he was home.

"What that means is get out of my goddamn face. That clear enough for you, shithead?" Collie snaps before he faces ahead again. He wants to swing a right hook at his stupid fucking face. Get him a few times make him spit out his fucking teeth... no. No. No he's not going to do that he is going to calm down.

Collie had been purposefully vague over the phone. He'd just told Gary to come over to the hospital at the end of his shift. This baby boy and his mother had come in at the start of Collie's shift. He'd spent his whole 12 hours bouncing between the two of them and everyone else. He always came back though, always checked in. Kept seeing that sweet little boy with his little brown curls.

When Gary had shown up he'd taken him right to the Pedes room with little cartoon animals painted on the wall. He'd picked up that little baby watching him calm as soon as he's in someone's arms. "Mom doesn't know. She's ummm... she's young she was in a bad home situation. She's getting a fresh start in Florida with her Aunt. She wants Milo to go home with someone that'll care."

Collie wasn't one to say when he had a hard day at work. Sometimes it was obvious with his attitude and mannerisms. Most of the time he hides it well. He thought today was one of those days where he was hiding it well. That was until Gary had rushed up to him for a hug.

Collie is tense at first but it's only for a moment. He drops his bag at his side reaching out to hold Gary. He rests his head on top of Gary's head. His throat feels tight as he tries not to cry. "You doing okay?" He asks, not able to say more without feeling like he can cry. He had to make sure that Gary was okay before he offloaded his day on him.
