Fast forward to now and I'm looking at those old designs like "wow, past me really thought THAT was peak character design huh." The growth is honestly wild. My style evolved, my understanding of color theory actually exists now, and I finally figured out how to make nature elements look like they belong on a person instead of just slapping some leaves on them and calling it a day.

Old Design:

The redesign hits different. Everything flows better. The symbolism is there. The aesthetics are THERE. These two actually look like they could save Hyrule now instead of getting lost in a forest for three hours. Anyway, here's the glow-up.

But looking back at it? It just wasn't hitting right. He didn't look nearly corrupted enough for a former guardian who completely lost himself to a lust for power. So, I completely threw the old design out and remade him from scratch! So here his old designs!!!

Now he actually looks like a proper, menacing incarnation of Ganon. I gave him massive, demonic red wings, a spiked collar, a tattered cape, and that eerie, glowing eye hovering right over his head. You can see the full, finished reference sheet in
