I guess the best place to start off this blog is how this project came to be:
"The Cozy World of Pup Cup" stemmed from a final project I had to do to complete my studies in animation at university (over a year ago now). I'll spare the details for my final module, the long story short of it was there were multiple briefs to choose from, one of them involved a coffeehouse chain, which is the one I ended up choosing.
I decided create animations starring characters based on different coffee drinks going of adventures throughout all four seasons. The inspiration was the music video for Blur's "Coffee and TV". My mum showed it to me when I was first talking about the assignment to her.
This is one of the four animations I made for this brief (I can't get the others on this post sorry), as you can see, it features the now pup of the hour!
Throughout the project, Pup Cup became a strong favourite, by tutors, peers and family alike; I even made and sold some merchandise during the end of year exhibition. One day, one of my cousins said to me "this would be great as a webcomic!" And I couldn't help but agree.
So that's how this how I started working on "The Cozy World of Pup Cup", I hope I didn't make this too long. I will post the other three animations later and I do plan on posting things like concept drawings, style frames, old turnarounds, etc.
