Dark Forest voices
Here comes another interesting headcanon! What if everyone in the Dark Forest had their own, deeply disturbing sound when they talked?
Alderstar--his regular voice, mixed with the fading-echo like sound cats hear when their life drains away and the world around them becomes blurred.
Bonus: his voice claim is Arthur from BBCâs Merlin (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Angelpaw--his normal voice (a monotone and unexpectedly deep voice), underlaid with the yowls and hisses of his now dead father.
-
Avery--his regular voice, with the dull clang of a live-trap door closing.
-
Batear--his regular voice, along with the screech of bars in the night.
-
Birchflight--their voice + the sound of a BMX bike's wheels scraping on gravel.
-
Bluedaisy--regular voice along with the rushing sound of air as you fall.
-
Claudrat--his regular voice, overlaid with soft whispers that give the feeling of different messages, to not trust him, to follow him, and rarely, of how much fun they will have.
-
Darkbrush--their regular voice (an annoying British-tinged voice), the squawk of fresh-kill travels beside it.
-
Emberdawn--Her regular voice, with the rush of a river during a heavy, dangerous storm.
Bonus: Her voice claim is Effy (is that how you spell it?) from Murdoch Mysteries (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Fallenfire--her regular voice, mixed with the hoarse rasp of a dying cat.
-
Ferndoe--her regular voice, mixed with the tune of a low, painful wail.
Bonus: her voice claim is Olivia from Haunting of Hill House.
-
Foxfire-- his normal voice mixed with the bubbling of water streaming into a sewer.
-
Froglight--his voice mixed with a growling squeak.
-
Gorseheart--his regular voice along with the sound of skin ripping in the heat of battle.
Bonus: his voice claim is George from Murdoch Mysteries (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Grousemane--his normal voice. Thatâs it, because he came from Starclan.
Bonus: his voice claim is Gwaine from BBCâs Merlin (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Hootpetal--her normal voice, with a touch of splintering teeth, the cracking bone along with the trinkling blood of the nerve.
Bonus: her voice claim is Gwen from BBCâs Merlin (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Jackdawfoot--his normal voice, mixed with the thump of a Twoleg on a small Thunderpath (sidewalk).
-
Kindlepaw--regular voice, mixed with the crackling of flames too close.
-
Loonfur--her regular voice, mixed with the sound of blood roaring in your ears when your heart races and you feel afraid.
-
Milkdud--their regular voice (higher pitched but demanding tone), the drips of blood upon leaves lurks beneath it
-
Myrtlewing--his normal voice, mixed with the disorienting sounds when caught between wakefulness and sleep, nightmares spilling into real life.
Bonus: his voice claim is Merlin from BBCâs Merlin (newer seasons for older--aka current--age).
-
Perchclaw-- his normal voice, with the warning hiss of an adder about to strike.
-
Pigeonfang--his normal voice in addition to the growling of a stomach that hasn't felt food in many moons.
-
Poppyhill--her regular voice mixed with the sound of a low whistle on the moor during a cold, windy night.
Bonus: her voice claim is Poppy Hill from Haunting of Hill House.
-
Riverrush--his regular voice (a playful and upbeat tone), mixed with the sound of a dangerous river, rushing water certain to drown an unfortunate soul.
-
Rosefrost--her regular voice, mixed with the ominous shattering of ice just before a cat falls into icy water.
-
Sharkstar--his regular voice, mixed with the rumbling thunder of a storm that would make kits wail.
-
Skullmoon--their regular voice, along with the crackling of mouse bones under oneâs foot.
-
Snailstar--regular voice + the sound of sand trickling out of an open paw
-
Snipvoice--their regular voice, along with the sound of footsteps crunching along the snow, alternating between walking and running.
-

-
Stickpaw--regular voice, only strained and tired, along with a screeching when loud noises are made.
-
Stonefern--his normal voice, mixed with the distant barking of angry dogs.
-
Treatpaw--her regular voice (a small yet friendly voice that can quickly turn horrifying), tainted by her sisterâs dying yowls
-
Trickpaw--her regular voice (a large and boisterous voice that can be sweet as catmint), the dying sobs and cries of her sister can be heard alongside it.
-
Webstripe--his normal voice mixed with the sound of waves getting stirred up by a boat.
-
Whispkit--their regular voice (whispery and quiet voice, everchanging), the wails of other kits speak beneath it, speaking of debts unpaid.
======================
In addition, itâs possible that the longer one is a resident for, the more their voice resembles the sounds over how they actually sounded in life. Itâs very gradual, so much so that it is very hard to notice.
-------------------------------
Itâs something the Dark Forest cast would become used to, but would absolutely frighten anyone else. The fading echo of Alderâs voice might even disorient them!
Btw Jackdaw killed kittypets, which is why his voice resembles that.
Myrtleâs was inspired by a time I was having a nightmare while half-awake, which made it feel more real and WAY more frightening than a normal nightmare. I of course had to give it to my favourite boy.

The Pit Tw: DrowningÂ
TawnyKit kicked at the dirt with her small white paw, huffing as she laid down on the flattened dirt. She could still feel the phantom touches of bugs crawling on her, and the scratches on her shoulder burned.Â
Dada had said that they would heal. But itâs been who-knows-how long and they still dripped and stung.Â
In a blink of an eye the sky flashed above and a loud crackle sounded through the darkened sky.Â
It began to spit, washing mud off of her fur and causing her paws to sink.Â
She curled up around her paws, head ducked under her paws to stay dry.Â
 -Â
She couldnât breathe.Â
Her lungs ached and her ears rang as she struggled against the surface, the water far above her head and causing her to have to swim desperately to stay afloat in the pit.Â
Her paws scraped at the walls, trying to grab onto something, anything.Â
She gasped for breath with every sip of the waves, and tried to hook her claws into the mud. It slipped out of her claws, dropping her down into the water and knocking her head against the ground as another boom of thunder sounded.Â
She was going to die a second time.Â
Her whole body burned with straining muscles and she felt bile rising in her throat as she screamed into the storm, begging for anyone to notice her.Â
Maybe her dada was right, maybe she was meant to die out here.
A strike of lightning lit up the top of the pit, revealing a cats figure shadowed by the rain.Â
For a brief moment she thought it was her father, and she wasnât sure if she was meant to be terrified or relieved.Â
Nonetheless, the strange cat pulled her out by the scruff, and for the first time in many moons she felt grass.Â
Her joy was covered by a fit of coughs racking her chest, her fur so cold the white spots might as well have been LeafBare snow.Â
The cat nudged her, and she flinched away in instinct. They picked her up, and as she hung limply in the strangers jaws, her head spun and she cried out for her family.Â
 -Â
She looked so much like HornetLeg. She was so small, and mud covered. Her already thin fur clung to her pelt leaving the ridges of her ribs exposed.Â
LoonFur stood awkwardly at the entrance of the den, and FleaThistle gave her a warm look.Â
âThank you for leading me to her. If you hadnât heard the cries and ran for help I think she would have died,âÂ
LoonFur gave him a quick smile, saying she was glad she could help, and ducked out of the den to head back to her own before the mud became too steep.Â
FleaThistle leaned down and began to lick the kit clean, ignoring his own dirty fur.Â
After heâd groomed her, he padded the moss around her small body to keep her warm.Â
He ducked out of the den, blinking against the strong rain pouring into his eyes. It was  difficult to get to JackDaw and FernDoeâs den in the storm, his paws slipping and the muddy water going up to his shoulders at times.Â
He glanced up at the trees when he heard a branch crack, and saw GremlinFrostâs small frame staring down at him.Â
âFleaThistle? What are you doing out?âÂ
FleaThistle hauled himself onto a tree stump just out of the mud so that he could stand without sinking.Â
âI need to talk to FadingStar,â He panted, blinking back tears as the mud stung the cuts on his torso.Â
âIn this storm? Head back home, Iâll get him for you,â the blue eyed tom shook his head, and his voice sounded far too old for his age. He was barely an apprentice, and FleaThistleâs heart ached, wondering if he was alone out here.Â
 -Â
She woke up in a small den, thin, twig like roots from a tree stump poking out of the walls and brushing her fur.Â
TawnyKit whimpered, lifting her head as she pulled herself into a sitting position.Â
âOh, good, youâre awake,â a small, brown-grey tom poked his head up, carrying a mouthful of leaves. Â
TawnyKit blinked, tagging in the sight of cuts lacing down his fur, chunks of flesh held on with poultices and bandages.Â
His ear was almost completely missing, more so a stump. Despite his injuries, somehow she felt calm. His eyes were warm. Kind.Â
He looked  though, almost fearful.Â
âWho are you?â She coughed, her voice hoarse.
âMy name is FleaThistle! And.. and you are?âÂ
âTawnyKit,â she chirped, tucking her tail over her paws as she shivered, her fur still slightly damp.Â
The tomâFleaThistleânodded, placing a few leaves in front of her. They were a bit crunchy, but she ate them anyway.Â
âDo you remember what happened?â He asked gently, sitting down in the nest next to her.Â
At the back of the den, two small brown toms were curled up, snoring lightly. Their nest was decorated with pebbles and feathers, and FleaThistle gave them a warm look before turning back to her.Â
âI remember drowning. And someone pulled me out,â she sniffed, her pelt prickling and ears flattening at the memory.Â
âWell.. that was me. Do you know if your parents are here?âÂ
âMy dad, HornetLeg. My clan said he was a bad cat,âÂ
FleaThistle froze, before shivering and leaning over to smooth his pelt down. He took a few deep breathes.Â
âIâm sorry sweetie, but heâs not here anymore.âÂ
She nodded, pressing her paws into the moss bed to ground herself.Â
âI can take care of you, if youâd like. My husband and I spoke about it and weâd be happy to,â His voice was soft, gentle.Â
TawnyKit thought for a few moments, looking around the comfortable den, and into FleaThistleâs kind eyes. Sheâd be safe here.Â
âIâd like that,âÂ
âââ
Iâd love to know what anyone thinks of this!Â

Fallenfire made Loonfur apologize
A scene where itâs the Dark Forest with:
--Batlight hanging from a tree
--Grouse and Alder playing ball with Myrtleâs head, while headless Myrtle cuddles with his kids
--Loonfur sits ominously in the shadows with her eyes glowing
--Gorseheart sitting in a tree, screeching
--Clawbear pulling on Gorseheartâs tail, thinking itâs a game or something
--Emberdawn swatting at Clawbear (or laughing)
--Novice racing to stop Clawbear
--Sparktail setting something on fire (probably spreading onto unsuspecting Jackdawfoot)
--Basiltooth showing Smalljump his bugs, who is TREMBLING
--all this the background, while Ferndoe in the foreground is welcoming the cat (the viewer) into the Dark Forest

Two things: one, who do you think found TawnyKit in the pit? Two, did the picrew send along with the submission? - @wills-woodland-warriors
hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
maybe Loonfur, as she enjoys hanging around caves and would also hang around odd pits
I also can picture Smalljump and / or Sparktail finding her
@elementaldeityoffood
we know who doesn't have balls (lol) but who is the ballsiest? Not in a gross way, but like the metaphor, who is not afraid of anything?
first of, lmao, secondly
Myrtlewing. He knows he can die again, but doesn't care. He will tell God to his face to suck a hog just to see how he would react
2. Loonfur..no reason she's just... somehow not afraid and it's kind of unsettling
3. Gorseheart. He knows he should be afraid, but he has gained so many allies that he's practically invincible. He usually doesn't try to be an asshole, but it may slip out from time to time.
4. Alderstar. Out of everyone, he has the most existence of self-preservation (mostly on Myrtle's behalf). He's not afraid of getting hurt, but he is afraid of dying again
