My drawings were starting to feel kind of stale, so I used Vaerin to do an artstyle challenge to broaden my horizons a bit!
The artists I tried to imitate here are Cyan-Y, UnknownSpy, Looj, and Skirtzzz. As animators, Cyan-Y and UnknownSpy have a solid grasp of simplification and shape language, which was fun for me to apply to Vaerin. My try at Looj is the most satisfying end result, I think. Itās very delicate and soft. And the Skirtzzz imitation is... well, itās an attempt! I donāt think I have the skillset Iād need to pull off anything close to her style yet. But maybe someday.
Also, donāt mind that Vaerinās horns vanished between the sketch and the lineart; sheās going through a redesign to make her more cohesive. More changes are coming for her soon, and Iām definitely going to use what I learned from this to implement them. <3
