Today, we honor Candice Patton!
Candice Patton is the leading lady of the Flash where she plays Iris-West Allen. She has made smaller apparences on other television shows such as The Game, The Young and Restless, and Grey’s Anatomy. Candice considers herself as Texan because she lived there for almost her entire life, but she was born in Missippi. Also, she is one of the founders of SHETHORITY where it strives for female empowerment and inclusivity. She is also an Ambassador for the Innocence Project, which is an organization that wants to release innocent people from jail. She is a woman who is committed to social change. Candice often gets degrading messages from racists individuals questioning her employment. However, she does not let that bother her because she understands the millions of black little girl looking up to her. In this industry, it is hard to find a black woman being a leading lady, so this makes her one of the very few. We applaud Candice! Continue to strive and shine black woman!
