Uhhhh AU where Phil moves away from civilization to live beside the view of the mountains, Techno comes to visit and stays over for a while, they’re good friends and Phil enjoys his company but then starts to realize Techno isnt quite himself. He shouldn’t have known where Phil was. He misremembered a past event that he shouldve known well. He doesn’t have their matching emerald. Or Doesn’t even know what it is? He Compliments Phils earring and Phil has a moment of realizing this is not Techno, because Techno gave this emerald to him. Phil ends up running out into the forest in an effort to get back to a nearby town, and gets chased by Techno, who doesn’t quite sound like Techno anymore, when calling at his back.

In a sideplot beside that, the actual Techno comes into a nearby town to try and visit Phil. In similar fashion, he finds a copy of Phil within the town, but eventually realizes its not Phil. The false Phil insists Techno should stay away from the forest, but Techno takes that as a lie and a way to keep him from his friend. He runs into the forest to try and find his actual Phil.

Both Phil and Techno end up within the forest, calling for each other, and yet not quite able to trust the voice that comes calling back. Phil doesn’t know if the Techno screaming his name is the actual Techno. Techno doesn’t know if the Phil calling for him is actually Phil. Techno still runs after it anyway. Phil runs away. They meet up and Phil attacks Techno, thinking its the false one. They eventually figure out that theyre both the real one, although Techno does kinda get stabbed in the process. They limp back to the town nearby. Find the fake Techno and Phil there, who both act afraid with the townspeople, with the real Techno and Phil seeming like monsters with blood on their hands and dirt on their faces. They get chased back to the forest. Techno and Phil curl up on the ground and end up falling asleep to the faint sound of their own voices yelling for each other.

"Tell me, between you and me. Do you... do you consider my voice to be... sexy?"
