A La Paz
A La Paz, allez errer dans l’inquiétant marché aux sorcières, où de vielles femmes vous vendent grigris, potions magiques et autres fœtus de lamas. Pour quelques bolivianos, ces vendeuses nées vous promettront richesse, fertilité ou jeunesse éternelle. Allez aussi visiter le musée de la coca. Vous y perdrez les stéréotypes qui collent à la peau de cette plante depuis que Freud a décidé de s’en injecter dans le nez. Au marché de la place San Francisco, allez déguster les truites grillées du lac Titicaca et les cœurs de mouton. Idéal les lendemains de fête que vous ferez au fameux Loki Hostel, sorte de Club Med hippie pour backpackers déjantés. Mais surtout, allez sillonner les rues bordéliques du centre ville, avec son tohu bohu de voitures qui klaxonnent dans tous les sens, ses vendeurs ambulants, ses immeubles crades et mal foutus. C’est ça La Paz : un bazar à ciel ouvert, une vie grouillante qui ne fait pas dans la dentelle. Vous y retrouverez le charme baroque de votre chambre d’adolescent!

3/4/2015- Flights. First day. Safety orientation. Sleep
3/5/2015- Walked around city. Booked tours.
3/6/ 2015- Full day Scared Valley Tour! Pisca Market, lunch in Urubamba, Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site, and if time allows Chinchero Excursion!
3/7/2015- Half day horseback riding tour which includes the Temple of the Moon, the Balcon del Inca cave and the towns of Huayllarccocha and Lanlacuyoc! Afterwards I will be doing a tour of Cuzco city including the Cathedral and Qoricancha (the temple of the sun) in the city center, as well as the four main ruins on the outskirts of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara!
3/8/2015- I have my orientation for my Jungle Conservation program. Two more girls will be arriving at my home stay before hand. Mostly a day of rest and re-packing my things to prepare for the next leg of my journey.
3/9/2015- I leave for the amazon rain forest! This will inculde a 10 hour bus ride to Puerto Maldanado, and then a 40 minute ride down the Madre De Dios river.
3/10/2015 through 4/17/2015- I will be doing jungle conservation work in the amazon rain forest. Little access to internet but I will keep everyone posted as much as possible.
4/18/2015- Arrive back in Cuzco with my travel buddy! We have a debrief for our next adventure. Staying the night in Loki Hostel.
4/19/2015- At 4:30am our trek to Machu Picchu begins!
4/20/2015 through 4/22/2015- We will continue our trek to Machu Picchu arriving back in Cuzco on the 22ed where we will spend the night in Loki Hostel again.
4/23/2015- Ether a day of rest or some type of adventure tour. Night in Loki Hostel

4/25/2015- This is the day my amazing travel buddy leaves Peru and heads back to Canada. I will probably spend the day sleeping. Night in Loki Hostel
4/26/2015- MY LAST DAY!!! My flight leaves Cuzco around 6 and I will arrive in Lima by 8pm. I have a layover all night.
4/27/2015- My flight leaves Lima at 1:30 and will be a little under 7 hours until I land in HOTlanta. After that just one more flight to Hartford where my amazing boyfriend will be picking me up from the airport and I am back to reality.
