guidelines for a successful logo
A stand out tip was finidng the balance between obvious and abstract. the obvious has been done a ton of times while the abstract could be too farfetched. Strike for something that is a bit of an âinside jokeâ in a way. The customer needs some understanding of the brand to get it. Apple is the forbidden fruit of knowledge and technically has nothing to do with computers but a connection can easily be made. Strive for a logo that requires a little bit of thinking. Just a little.Â
Crear un logo o logotipo de empresa no es tan sencillo como mucha gente piensa. Si quieres saber qué es y cómo hacer un logo profesional no te pierdas esta entrada. Te lo cuento todo.

Today I am going to give you 7 tips to make your graphic designs look better.
Whether you are designing posters, logos, info-graphics, or you are just preparing your slides for your next presentation, graphic design is everywhere. Designing something is not hard, but making it look better is hard. So in this Video I will give you 7 of my favorite graphic design tips to make your designs stand out.
Here you go:
Tip 1: Think about the story
So why do we design something? To tell something to the viewers visually, right? So the first thing is to think about a story you want to share.
Is it a message we want to deliver or itâs a movie poster showing the actions or various cast. Or itâs an infographic that is showing some valuable information. Think about this. This will lead you to design better later in the process. Otherwise you may have a great design that wonât be communicating with the audiences.
Tip  2: Sketch it on a paper
Whether you like it or not, designing your projects on paper can be very much helpful for you. Although we design on a computer, but computers can be distracting for designers. So itâs always better to sketch it out on paper with a pen or pencil even before you open your favorite design software. The number one reason for this is that, Â you donât have to deal with complex shape, you donât have to be perfect.
Just sketch it. Later in the software you can manipulate it. But without sketching, designing can be timely sometimes. My personal way of doing this is to set a time for 25 mins and draw or design as many versions as I can and then select the better versions.
Tip  3: Select a good Color Pallet
The one thing that separates great designers from average designers is the colors they use in their design. So when planning your design, you should do your research and pick a good color pallet.
Colors in your designs have powers and emotions. It will set the tone of the message you want to express. So before picking a color scheme. Ask yourself some questions:
1. What is the message I want to share? What is the tone of the message? Is it scary or inspirational, is it showing excitement or sadness?
2. How many colors do I want to use in the design. My suggestion is to stick with 3-4 colors.
3. What will be the color scheme type? Will it be mono chromatic or analogous, complementary or split complementary or double complementary.
These questions will help you to pick the best color pallet. You can also take real world photographs and take inspiration from this or use online tools to make a pallet of your own. Canva design school have a great article on color theory. I have put the links of the article and some other resources in the description. Check them out.
Tip 4: Invest in a good type face
Another aspect of graphic design in which you should invest your time and effort, is the typeface you are using. Without good typeface no matter what you put in the design it will not look professional. Sometimes the typeface also set the tone of the design like the colors do.
So my best suggestions for typeface are:
1. Â Donât use so many fonts. Limit it into 2-3 fonts.
2. Â Beware of the size of the fonts.
3. Â If you are professional and working for a big project, invest some money on it. You will not regret it.
There is also a good article on this in the Canva. Check them out. The links are be in the description.
Tip  5: Focus on the background
You should also spend your time to think what will be the background of the design. So before selecting or designing your background ask yourself some questions:
1. Â Â Â Will it be a flat or faded color, or will it be a sharp or blurred image.
2. Â Â What are the things that will be emphasized in the background?
Think about it. A good background is necessary to emphasize the foreground and the core message you want to communicate.
Tip  6: Focus on the foreground
Foreground is important. Having a good background is helpful. But without a good foreground you canât communicate effectively. You should also focus on your composition.
So the core questions are:
1. What Do I want to communicate?
2. What will be in the foreground?
3. Will it be text or image or shape?
4. What will be the composition? Where to put images, texts or elements that will help you to communicate the message.
These core questions will lead to design your foreground better.
Tip  7: Experiment with your design
The seventh and last tip is EXPERIMENT with your design. Don be rigid. Know the rules to break the rules. Donât be afraid to do something different. You can use negative or white space, multiple fonts, hand lettering or anything you like. Just make sure the design is showing what you wanted to show. So experiment and you may come up with something that will differentiate you from the rest of the designers.
Thatâs it. These are my 7 graphic design tips. I hope you have found this post helpful. Â
Characteristics of a Good Logo Design
Many people wonder how or what a good logo design is, is it a colorful piece of art or is it simple and attractive? This is an important question because all of us what our company to be the best in the best and we know that the logo design is a very big part of it.
A good logo is that which can properly showcase its company and its purposes and goals. The main concept of the logo design is that when a viewer looks at it, he is instantly reminded of your company and the products that you sell or have been selling. But perhaps the most important purpose of the logo design is to make an impact on people, a positive and everlasting impact. The minute the customer sets eyes on your logo design he should be reminded of what your company is and feel enough trust to immediately buy your product based on the reliability.
So, is it easy to make that impact on people's minds? No, it is not but it is not impossible either. You see, many of the companies make the grave mistake of thinking that a artistic design which has many images, text and color will make their logo design easy to remember, but the fact is that a logo design can only be remembered if it is simple and easy to memorize or keep in mind.
When designing your logo you should be aware of the fact that it is going to be used on different things like your website, documents, stationary or other places and this why you need to make sure that it has the right elements and that it works on every single thing no matter the scale.
The last thing that you should remember is that before you add any color to a logo, you should be certain that it looks good in black and white, this is most essential because there are many places where it would only be possible to print your logo in black and white. Use these tips wisely and create the perfect logo design.
