Logicallyinlove: For the shoes, my first thought was that they look kind of like a pair of women's oxfords, but I hadn't been able to find a pair that looks remotely like that. I did create a pair like it on the Shoes of Prey, but since that is custom stuff, I would say anyone is better off getting cheap canvas shoes and painting the right design on with the right paint. I need this now dangit.

I like to imagine that while they were still kinda-sorta dating on Earth, that Amanda was going to go to a sports event with some friends and they convinced her to bring Sarek along even though she wasn't sure he was going to enjoy himself. Much to everyone's surprise, he is very much intrigued by it and now they try to go to some sports event every time they go back to Earth.
Yeah, but imagine how fascinating should be for a vulcan to see people swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo...

Hey there! Sure, I don’t mind different opinions and I expect them. I just realized I didn’t mention something important on that post, though. I should’ve added that I was talking about TOS Amanda and Sarek only. That opinion doesn’t apply to the movie.

true but amanda's death had a logic behind it because spock needed to be emotionally compromised in a way that made sense for kirk to become captain. do i like that they killed her? no, but there was reason. WHAT REASON IS THERE FOR FRIGGA'S DEATH OTHER THAN FOR LOKI ANGST AND PAIN BECAUSE OTHER THAN THAT THERE WAS NO REASON WHAT SO EVER.

McCoy slowly lowered his glass, overcome with an eager curiosity. “No, my lady,” he answered in a hushed, even tone.
On the Other Side
The trip to New Vulcan had gone without a hitch. Enterprise had already been docked between missions, and Starfleet Command had been very understanding. Freighters move between Vulcan and Earth at a steady frequency. Sarek had been there, driven them both to his abode in silence. Jim wished that it had been a cataclysm. Wished it could reflect the way he felt about it.
And now Sarek had driven Spock to his 'appointment' and Jim was alone in the house with Amanda. The place was dark, at least. He wandered it like a ghost.

"-and I don't even understand why he wou-ouuuld?" Jim stopped in his tracks, effectively derailed. Okay, so, getting in an argument with a mother about her son had always been an idiotic thing to do, and Jim had expected a response he was not ready to deal with. He'd had no one else to talk to, really, having lost his temper at Spock in the half-Vulcan's own home, and ranting to Sarek would've been... astoundingly stupid.
Still, he expected her to back her son, or try to calm him, or even smack him. This, though-
"Uh?"
