just want to say if you end up getting into gears of war, play with a friend because your A.I. allies is pretty bad.
I think I’m going to have to take gears of war in chunks because genuinely some segements of the game can be unnecessarily stressful and rage inducing (FUCK the berserker section.)

picked up gears of war because I always found myself rewatching Noah Caldwell-Gervais’ very long review of the series, and I think after the third time watching (okay I’ll be honest it was more ‘listening’ while doing some sewing work), and after that point I thought, ‘you know what. why not give it a go myself?’
Uh. When I say picked up, I mean I picked up the original 360 release as I’ve heard it’s colour grading is much better than the Ultimate Edition/Reloaded version, also the original goes for so cheap as a physical copy, yet the newer version is like. A hefty $60 and I’m not paying that much for what’s essentially a high quality reprinting of a game that has a few ads ons.. like that should be at most a $35-45 game, not a $60 one.
Anyways. Um. I’ll just say. I’m not one for third person shooters, hell I barely touch them (aside from Perfect Dark Zero), but like. man movement controls feel so weird it’s so context heavy, and when running it doesn’t really allow you to make much of a sharp turn. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to shooters and I still have to wrap my head around said movement controls but aside from that I understand how it was big of a game for its day. Although… having the reload button also be the shoot button is… a choice. Also sure wish I could use the Lancer’s Chainsaw but enemies keep killing me before I get the satisfaction of slicing them in two >:(.
