𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 . . .⠀ ⠀ . . . gyms have now reopened and I for one am very pleased that they are • Although I didn’t feel as though I missed out through gyms being closed, I wasn’t able to challenge myself as much at home!⠀ ⠀ Although I was a little wary at first, I soon felt at home (and very comfortable) in my new gym . . . equipment is socially distanced, workout zones are clearly defined and staff are continually leaning down to keep us all safe! ⠀ ⠀ I wrote a whole post about getting back into the gym last week (link in bio) but here are a few quick tips to get you started;⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ Familiarise yourself with the new normal - one way systems, cleaning down equipment and zones.⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ Be prepared you fail - you will have lost progress so be prepared to fail at first and regress yourself instead or trying to match your previous best!⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ Take is slow - going in all guns blazing is a sure fire way of getting injured • Take your time, go at your own pace and be sure to warm up and cool down properly!⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ Mix things up - during lockdown I’ve focused on running, kettlebells and resistance band based workouts • Now I’m back in the gym I’m focusing on getting more variety in my life • By mixing things up I can challenge my body and avoid overtraining!⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣ Make the most of your rest days - I have crazy DOMS this week as I’ve been focusing on challenging myself but this weekend I’ll be taking the load off and making the most of the nice weather!⠀ ⠀ Oh and ⠀ ⠀ 6️⃣ Enjoy it!!!⠀ ⠀ #GymsOpen #GirlGains #FitnessVibes #FitLife #LockdownWorkouts⠀ (at Leeds) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDO2Ccohn8w/?igshid=x4dgn2xp1l2h
