These are all my personal headcanons + me planning out me and my friends would be if we were elemental masters

anyways, I wanna yap about transfem Jay (She/He) because I love her and I need more people to know about her. I absolutely ADORE her.

My brain likes to go ; “What if people think you’re weird for headcanoning Jay as transfem because they think making him fem defeats the point of him being overprotective and smothering towards Nya?

And that, since him being a man and acting this way towards Nya is why she feels so disconnected to the rest of the ninja when she DOES become one, they think you’re erasing her as ‘the girl ninja’ “ (since I’d be making Jay a ‘girl’ — in quotes since, I don’t think this has to be said because we’re all woke here but, trans girl ≠ transfem. Jay is moreso Enby, or genderqueer, but associates with femininity a lot more than masculinity :3

So he wouldn’t be seen as a girl but as a feminine presenting person who the other girls view as their own.)

I think Jay would act this way towards Nya even if he was trans— Like me thinking he’s a fem has NOTHING to do with me trying to be defend him in anyway.

Jay being an asshole to Nya and learning how to grow out of that, and growing to know that his girlfriend is fully capable as he is, and he doesn’t *have* to worry about her like he used to, is why I think he’d still be like that—? if that make sense idk

Plus, with my headcanon in mind btw, Jay having some sort of internalized misogyny about her feeling a disconnect between herself and her asab, and viewing the dysphoria as some sort of sign of weakness, and pushing those thoughts onto other women in his life, can totally happen— Especially if you think about how often that can happen in real life in general.

Like trans people trying to label who “The real trans people” are by saying “if you don’t have dysphoria you aren’t really trans” or, horrible example 😭 , how Arin (an oc of mine) views his identity as a transman as something he needs to be cagey about, and those feelings come out as toxic masculinity towards outsiders because of the way his dad treated him.

If I were to try to fit Jay as transfem into the show itself I think he would’ve figured it out after Skybound.

Once he realizes just how much he could lose, and just how unhappy he was with himself in general. (since this is the season he locks the FUCK IN)

While rewatching a bit of Ninjago clips on yt, I noticed that one major difference between Harumi kissing Lloyd and Akita kissing him is that when Harumi does it, she sort of grabs his arm to pull him closer and kisses him. But when Akita does it, she's the one to move closer. As if giving him the respectful choice to back away.

And also, the context in which both kissed him. Harumi's one was so sudden, in my opinion. The environment was serious and unfamiliar. It just seemed odd. Meanwhile, with Akita, her act of affection was also a farewell. And a thank you, of sorts.

I might be overthinking about the scenes, but it irritates me whenever people say "oh Akita was giving Lloyd some Harumi flashbacks". Like, yes, maybe he was thinking of Harumi at that moment, but I'm sure he was happy too. And Akita is so much more different than Harumi. I hope people can see that when they make these comparisons.

(No hate to Lloyrumi shippers. I have my own opinions on the ship, but I find it interesting. Just not in the romantic sense. It's toxic but captivating in an irritable way.)
