LL#3 Baby Theory??
After LL#3, I've had a bit of a far fetched theory brewing up in the back of my head?? Itâs my first time sharing a theory publicly so Iâm pretty nervous.
Anyways here are my thoughts on why I think that, somewhere along the way, the crew will successfully bring about the creation of the first protoform in millions of years:
Two of the three plot lines presented in Issue 3 dwelled on the topic of ânew cybertronian lifeâ, both with nine-of-twelve going into detail about the senateâs (and then the councilâs) "unnaturalâ method of making new cybertronians, and more interestingly enough:Â
The reveal of Anode as a âblacksmithâ and what the snowflake-shaped item is
Two main components are needed to make a protoform: a spark and the sentio metallico. So far we have the latter of the two components.. but I believe, and this is just speculation, that we might already have the other half - a new spark.
And where would that new spark be?? Well, what if (and this where the far-fetched part of this theory comes in) what Rung coughed up earlier in issue 1.. was actually a tiny, ânewly bornâ spark?Â
At a closer look, whatever Rung coughed up seems to emit a very similar glow to that of his spark in the previous panel:
and maybe having the âbrightest sparkâ means you have enough left over to maybe even.. make a whole desperate, new spark?? I donât know, honestly. [EDIT: Another thought?? Maybe the deep, agonizing, and unfiltered grief Rung is feeling over the loss of someone close to him.. incited the new spark, new life, to be made in its stead.. ?]
But if this holds any ground, and that is a fresh new baby spark Rung just coughed up, then the possibility for a ânaturally bornâ cybertronian runs very high, specially with the presence of the sentio metallico Anode has kept on her for the last five hundred years, nine moths, fourteen days, and six or so hours.
and the fact that her job used to be exactly that: helping new sparks find their shape through their sentio metallico.Â
Also with the thought of a tiny baby bot joining the crew/
But yeah thatâs all I got. Iâm not really all that good at this as the lot of you, but if you have anything else to add Iâd be more than glad to hear of it <3
EDIT: Kinda bummed out it wasnât a baby spark bUT!! Itâs still very much tied to the creation of new cybertronian life so !!! Close enough I suppose?? :p

Lost Light 3 - Other Stuff
- Did Perceptor really ask Brainstorm to be lab partners? When did this happen? Perceptor is still on the Lost Light, which brings up... a lot of questions, considering how supportive he was of Brainstorm earlier. Iâm still eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the Lost Light and the mutineers, and Perceptor is one of the characters Iâm especially interested to see...
- When they fixed up Ten, they removed his cute flower paintings but left âI failed the Ambus Testâ on his back? Not cool, guys.
- Megatron trying to understand the rank-and-file members of the resistance is great, and so is his comment about protest. I hope he keeps moving closer to his roots. I also love that Ratchet went down there too, presumably to supply medical care to anyone who needs it. Ratchet is good.
- Something Iâve been wondering about for a while - Why is Megatronâs Autobot badge still red? Most of the characters have switched theirs to silver in mourning, but not Megatron even though he lost someone close to him. Why not?
- Nine-Of-Twelve is... interesting. The way he talks about âexecuting the Senate for blasphemyâ as if it was perfectly reasonable gives a window into how he views the world, and draws an interesting parallel between the Functionist council and the early Decepticon faction, who also assassinated the Senate... Itâs also kind of horrifying that the reason he defected was because the council started making new sparks, and not the other horrifying things the council was doing before then. Nine-Of-Twelve might be helpful, but his perception of the world and his values are very different from those of the protagonists.
- Iâm not sure how I feel about Anode being a "blacksmithâ yet. Iâll keep reading and think about it.Â
The way Velocity talks about it is interesting and revealing. She almost sounds like a Functionist - as if Anode should have done this job because thatâs what she was made to do, saying she was âblessedâ and seeming disdainful that Anode chose to do something else instead. Itâs hard to know how much of her response is because she thinks Anode robbed the Lighthouse before leaving and how much is because she thinks itâs wrong for Anode to be doing anything other than being a âBlacksmithâ but... hm. Iâm interested to see where this will go and what it reveals about Caminus.
- Also, Iâve seen fan-theories about Lug being a hallucination, and this issue seems to further imply that... I hope thatâs not the case though. I really like Lug and I like the variety she adds to the crew. I want her to remain as a cast member.
- The crewâs use of âmood suppressantsâ makes me wonder how common this was during the war. Are Rung and Nautica the only characters going through the grieving process without them right now? How did the option to suppress grief affect the duration of the war?
- Okay, I saved the most important subject for last. RUNGâS ALT.
I absolutely do not buy that the tank the Functionists revealed here is Rungâs alt mode. I think itâs Functionist propaganda. If that really was Rungâs alt, why not have him transform on the broadcast? Why reveal this tank coming out of some garage instead? I donât buy it.Â
I do think theyâve figured out âwhat he turns intoâ but I donât think theyâre revealing its actual âfunctionâ to the public, whatever it is. Basically, I remain extremely suspicious for the time being.
Also, I have to mention... the AVL has used Rung as a figurehead, but barely communicated with him it seems. I wonder how actual-Rung will compare to the image of him that theyâve created for use of their resistance movement...
