Publisher Wired Productions and developer LKA have announced When Sirens Fall Silent, a dark, investigative, psychological thriller coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A release date was not announced.

When Sirens Fall Silent is a dark, investigative, psychological thriller where you play as Mila, a determined policewoman in early 1990s Italy. Haunted by a past she’s desperate to escape, Mila is thrust into a high-profile case of kidnappings and murders. As the investigation unravels, you must not only save her from herself, but also being swallowed up by a vortex of violence, mystery and confusion. In When Sirens Fall Silent, LKA continues its tradition of perfectly recreating real Italian locations, whilst delivering a haunting and uncomfortable narrative unseen before in video games. Pushing Unreal Engine 5 to its limits, When Sirens Fall Silent stretches technological boundaries and redefines the expectations of what is possible with a small, but focused team of ten, but also allowed LKA to deliver a new aspect to its games; a branching, multi-layered narrative dialogue system, with a huge focus on verbal and emotional interaction, investigation and subsequent choices; a huge transformation between earlier games.

"Emma Stone's kinda fat, don't you think?" "Oh no, I think she's just big-boned." What a beautiful movie about a terrible malady. I am describing Hollywood's hatred of eating. Because these days not even cartoon characters (Offender #1: Homer Simpson) sit down for a meal and actually consume anything.*

I'm sick of it. Eating in movies should be forbidden, along with brassiered sex. You must earn them back, Hollywood: food and copulation. Think of it like a points system at a group home for "rexies," as the haunted young people who cannot chew and swallow identify themselves here. To the Bone is Short Term 12 excellent. It is Andrea Arnold excellent. And what a cast!

The "baby bottle Pietà" scene between Lili Taylor and Lily Collins is why you make and why we watch movies about tragedy and suffering and the will to live and love.
