“There will be four other members to your team,” explained Prince Pete. “The dragon who snatched Bradley was recently spotted circling these mountains,” he said, gesturing towards the large, detailed map spread out on the table between them with two outstretched fingers. “You and the other members of your team will need to get into the beast’s horde cavern and retrieve my son, preferably after slaying the thing, though if you manage to complete your task without killing it, I’ll be surprised.” OR Maybe, if you squint and turn the whole thing upside down, it's a fairy tale. Or a farce. Either way, there are dragons, and princes, and sometimes, even heroes.

Bradley was sweaty in the aftermath of the fight, and the salt-damp breeze off the ocean cooled his skin. He fought a shiver. But maybe it wasn't because of the cold. Maybe it was the way Hangman came up behind him and let their shoulders brush together as he stood at Bradley's side, as if that was a thing they did. Or: Bradley and Jake fight.
