what’s so fun for me watching all the Met streams these past few weeks is seeing how many of them are the exact performances I listened to when I was a kid tuning in to Live from the Met on NPR. I see parts of the staging that I remember the hosts talking about and see interviews I heard live as they were filmed and broadcast. I learned so much about opera from that show and seeing all these performances now, years after hearing them, just has me all warm and fuzzy inside.

2. What was your first live opera?
i'm pretty sure it was "Die Zauberflöte" at the Marionettentheater Schönbrunn in Vienna when i was a kid. (puppet theater)
and if that doesn't count... my first "real" live opera was "Tosca" with the parents. but i don't remember when, only that i was still very young and i remember enjoying the music, but not the actual performance or sitting in an uncomfy chair for hours! LOL
