â: Cuddling in a blanket fort
There was a mass of blankets in the basement of the Watersâ house â hung on chairs and creative a little cove, a cave, in the center. Hazel and Augustus were lying on a pile of pillows inside their little fort. Their castle. He was the King, she the Queen, and theyâd conquer everything together. Well, heâd conquer, and sheâd stay trying to catch her breath."Augustus?" she whispered."Shh, Iâm enjoying a moment." He had his eyes closed, his hand tucked around her waist. "Augustus." She prodded his side and he opened one eye."Hazel Grace, what did I just say?""I want a kiss.""Ah, that I can oblige." He propped himself up and leaned over to kiss her. She kissed him back but had to pull back quicker than sheâd like to breath. His hand cupped her cheek. "You alright?"Hazel knew that he knew that she wasnât. He was being polite; concerned. She kissed his cheek and just snuggled into his side. He smiled and adjusted himself to make sure she was comfortable as well as his leg resting neatly where it didnât strain. She ran her fingers through his soft mahogany hair and smiled, looking around."We made a pretty great castle.""Long live the Queen," he said softly.
â ( i'm sending a couple to u too bc why not )
â: Reading a book together
Hazel tucked herself into Augustusâ side and rested her head against his shoulder, trying to read the book he was holding. The angle wasnât quite right so she scrunched up her nose and prodded his cheek. When he glanced over, she pulled a pouting lip."Read it to me?" she asked simply, and he consented. She laid her head back down against his shoulder and listened. His voice rolled over the words, like the song of a siren. His voice was something she had noticed about him the first time sheâd met him â how low and smooth it was. She could listen to him talk for hours (something she was certain he could do as well, arrogant bastard). But sheâd never tell him just how much she liked his voice. He didnât need an inflated ego. Sheâd just tell him he had a nice voice.Somehow, it felt right: Augustusâ voice narrating Max Mayhemâs extraordinary venture. She absently thought, he should voice the audio books if they ever make them. He made a good Mayhem. She was sure heâd like that compliment a lot.

the sun offering far more heat than necessary in the sky above        indicated summer, yet the array of grey clouds lingering nearby        promised winter. what lydia should've be doing is soaking up the        last of summer before diving headfirst into her last year of        high school, something she was certain a vast majority of her        peers were rightfully doing on one of summers' last good days.        instead, however, she was late to her best friends' cancer patients'        support group, something allison had spent two hours attempting        to convince lydia to go to.Â
lydia had been with allison every step of the way ever since they'd        discovered she had cancer. when the rest of their friends abruptly        made a terrified exit from their lives, lydia remained by allison's        side, desperate to be the one to help the brunette through the most        difficult stage of her life. & today was no different. though lydia        wasn't entirely thrilled to sit through an hour of mind-numbing        boredom, as ally had described it, it was one of the many sacrifices        the strawberry-blonde made for allison. yet now, she was running        seventeen minutes late.
it was the incessant sound of her phone indicating text messages        that caused her limbs to move at a terribly fast pace. every noise        her phone made only caused her legs to move faster, something        DEADLY in this heat. when the church finally came into view, lydia        sucked in a breath of relief, noting the anxiety slowly building up        in the pit of her stomach. after quickly jogging toward the large        door & only slowing down once inside the quiet hallway, lydia        didn't allow herself to think it through before tearing open the        door to the basement & noticing the room fall silent upon her        entrance. ' hi, uh, sorry i'm late. ' she uttered breathlessly, refusing        to make eye contact with the large number of gazes on her &        instead shooting allison an apologetic look before walking to the        open seat beside her, still desperately aware of peoples' gazes on her.

"Ladies and Gentleman, we apologize for the delay. We seem to be having traffic on the runway. Not sure when we'll be able to take off." The pilot said over the intercom. Kassandra groaned when she heard that, sinking her head into her hands. "No..." She sighed. "I want to go NOW!" She mumbled, pulling out her book.
