“Too pure for this world.”

I’m James. And I’m Rose. We’ve just received news that my darling wife is pregnant! We had no clue and we have no plan but we’re going to start this family album to show our baby and their family for generations. And I’m going to make sure to get some silly snaps in here!

Decided to head out for a picnic and couldn’t resist a silly face competition. I think I won but James says otherwise. Decided we’ll have our child’s gender a surprise! We’re trying to think up names. Georgia? Tim? Harry? Becky? Shimmershine? She’s not a pony from that show, she gets a nice normal pretty name please. Party pooper.

Never ask your craving wife if you can have a spoonful of neapolitan ice cream when she’s craving. You’ll get this look if she’s been kept up by kicking all night. She’s certain we’re going to have a boy so she’s picked the name Harry, guess I’ll have to pick a girl’s name she’ll like that doesn’t remind her of ice cream toppings. Maybe Hannah?

Surprised James in the bathroom, he rarely takes off his tops and I wanted to show how cute he is. You know why I don’t take of my top.

She came so fast we actually had to hurry to the hospital in our pajama’s, my older brother Dick gave us a lift and probably broke five traffic laws getting us there in time. Our baby came early, she was due Valentines day but came on the 6th instead, surprised us all. The doctors want to keep her in for a few days as she’s very weak, but she’s got a big set of lungs on her.

Welcome to the world little Hannah.

Dick surprised us both when he came back to the hospital after being gone for hours, he came with my Mum Debbie. Didn’t even tell us he was going to fetch her. Glad he did though, he was shattered and fell asleep in a chair shortly after getting back. Debbie was more than happy to hold her new Granddaughter, likes calling her ‘lamb’, or ‘little star’. Gave Rose a minute to sleep.

First feeding, she’s a hungry little tyke for someone so small. Takes after me, she has my brown hair instead of her Daddy’s blond, but she does have his cute little curl.

Hannah opened her eyes for the first time in James’s arms, reached out and touched her Daddy’s face before giving him the sweetest smile. He was trying so hard not to cry. She has his eyes, sort of jealous she didn’t have mine. You always liked my soft blue. Only on you though.

Hannah’s a curious kiddo, likes to explore and we have no idea how she keeps getting to the places she does. She’s got no fear of anything bigger and scarier than her, she just seems to want to befriend it.

Hannah took her first steps, she was a bit wobbly and fell  on her bum a lot but once she got the hang of it she was off like a rocket. She’s got her first word too! Its ‘moon’, though now we can’t get her to stop!

Been a few years since we gave an update, Hannah is a little slow to read but she’s very creative. She’s got a brilliant imagination and likes to make up stories and go on ‘brave adventures’ to the one overgrown patch in our garden. She’s also wickedly cheeky, likes to pull small pranks on us. I hope you haven’t encouraged that James.

Hannah pretending she’s a frog, weirdly enough she didn’t scare off the frog either. They both just started croaking at each other until lunch time.

James got a day off work, and instead of using it to fix the shed he spent the whole day playing dress-up and attending Hannah’s tea parties. You can’t resist those big blue eyes of hers. It took you ages to wash off the make-up. I looked pretty though.

Hannah’s 4th birthday, she was hoping to go out and play with her Mum but Rose isn’t very well right now. She hasn’t been for some time. Made her two cakes though, victoria sponge and chocolate fudge. She can’t decide which she likes better.

Dear Hannah, Although you Mum is no longer with us I kept this for you, in hopes that in the darkest of times you know she loved you dearly and ever regretted having you. We both love you so much.  I hope one day I can rebuild a family for you, until then I will try my very best to let you know how loved you are no matter what.
