Our annual plea to leave the fireworks to the professionals. As we prepare for Fourth of July festivities, Little Bea and our family want to remind every parent to pay very close attention to the clothes your children are wearing and to keep anything larger than a sparkler out of their hands. Any large firework, even if it is designed to be held, can potentially fail and explode. Clothing can and will catch fire, especially if the material is even slightly synthetic, causing severe injuries. We were VERY lucky that the Little Bea healed completely from her injuries but we had a few days where doctors were afraid she might lose the use of her hand. We don't want any other family to have to go through this. Please learn from our 2015 mistake. Make sure your children are wearing clothes that fit well, are not synthetic and leave the big fireworks to the grownups. Have a happy fourth and please stay safe! #fourthofjuly #fireworks #fireworksafety #besafe #kidsafety #haveahappyfourthofjuly #independanceday #littlebea #burns #firesafety (at Walnut Grove, Washington)
