Another eyebrow rose, partially out of surprise, mostly genuinely entertainted by his confidence. Even if he seemingly preferred to linger in the shadows rather than going for a direct approach, Kurtis has always been direct and honest when it came to his words. A little too much, one could argue. After all, she wasn't used to have her teasings thrown back at her.
Which make things a little more interesting in one hand, a little more complicated in the other, for reasons she'd much rather not think too much about. She's barely used to have co-workers on her side. Companions. Let alone friends. Something else, however? More? That's risky.
Lara lets out a chuckle, much closer to a scoff than a laugh under her breath, and leans back once more, making space between the two. Are we having second thoughts, miss Croft? Or maybe we're just... overthinking this?
"Aren't you a charmer.", she smiles. Backing off, lifting walls, but still giving him a chance to tear down a brick or two "Do tell. Those one-liners ever worked, for you?"
Not without forcing him to deal with a pinch of sarcasm, of course.
