lets talk about how one of my loser characters used to be young and idealistic and was a horrible person because of it (itâs lithewing)
Lithewing certainly didnât look like she belonged with an illegal undergroung fighting ring. sheâs never been the imposing type. and she didnât fight, of course. but she handled money and information behind he scenes, and made a fair bit of cash doing it. also did some recruiting for the Decepticons (she joined the cause way, way early on. back when it was more of an idea than a real movement or faction, actually)
thatâs where she met Deathtrap and Warfire (though they had different names back then), by the way. both very good fighters, both very desperate for the money they got for winning. she was very interested in recruiting them. they seemed like the type who would take any opportunity they got.
but warfire kinda sorta absolutely abhors her (and pretty much all Decepticons) now, because after a very uneven but entertaining and profitable fight she basically stole his almost-dead brother, reported him missing, and volunteered him to be totally rebuilt into a somewhat experimental body for the upcoming war. without deathtrapâs consent, of course. and sheâll deny it to her grave, but before the war she may have known a person who knew a person who had a friend with needles in his fingers and money on his mind. not very professional, and less skilled than lithewing would have liked, but he got the jobs done well enough and didnât ask any questions he didnât need to ask. thatâs where a significant portion of herâs earnings went. because rewriting part of someoneâs personality and shuffling some inconvenient memories out of the way isnât really wrong if youâre just opening their mind to the possibilities of a bright, shining, Decepticon future. right? sure. sheâll keep telling herself that. and not telling anyone else.Â
you know, she actually can be a very caring person sometimes, if you get close to her. but when it comes to serving the cause, thereâs not much she wouldnât do. ends justify the means, and all that. she mellows out some once the war really gets underway, though. i mean once your âcauseâ has morphed from equality to conquest and become a sham of everything you believed in, i think anyone could become pretty jaded about it. hell, later on she even started trying to help deserters get out alive, as long as they didnât seem like the sort to run off to the Autobots. she eventually figured that just because someone disagreed with the direction the Decepticons had taken and wanted out, they didnât need to be tortured and killed in whatever new and horrible ways the justice division had come up with this time.
