LIMBIC SYSTEM - Stinky boy.
I was wondering if anyone had even tried to embody images of the reptilian brain, the limbic system from disco elysium? It turns out that yes, it's hard to find a couple of artworks, but you can dig them up. I wanted to work hard and come up with an *approximate* look for the limbic system (specifically Harry's personal limbic system, by the way). if you remember, this is the department responsible for the human psyche and emotions, so I brainstormed with associations for this word. if it would be interesting to read about symbolism, the text will be attached in the comments below. The doodle didn't come out exactly as intended, but the image was roughly preserved.
the list of associations was small, very small: eyes, nerve nodes, something like a bible, masks with different emotions. I'll try to explain why they are now.
the eyes are "the eyes of the reflection of the human soul," and the limbic system is essentially the "soul", because thanks to it we can experience various emotions, feelings, the gaze most often gives out these sensations, so the emphasis was placed on them.
masks with different faces were added for the same reason, adjusting and determining our emotional state (they, like a Rubik's cube, will change their position depending on the emotion, so they were depicted on the head). nerve nodes and endings were marked on the sleeves, because they connect the brain to our body. Some psychic skills can also be seen on the fabric.
The last and most important thing is the Bible. Harry loves very much to idealize people close to him to the level of a god/ goddess, literally changing and living only for them. The limbic system controls the formation of attachments, regulates motivation, and determines which events and people are intrinsically significant. if the detective elevates important people to the level of God, then perhaps the Bible would be appropriate here. It's a strange association, of course, but it doesn't happen to anyone. Thanks for reading.
I think the fact that ancient reptilian brain and limbic system have the same voice actor and both voice harry during the karaoke scene has some deeper importance or meaning to it but i have negative conceptualization skills so i cant tell what that deeper meaning is

Whose limbic system is it anyway?
The emotional center of your brain does well to take orders from your heart. 85% of the fibers of the vagus nerve running between your heart and brain are afferent, meaning the majority of information conveyed there represents information flowing from your heart to your brain. Yet your neocortex, if you subject it to the blaring trumpets of crisis, fear and danger from every quarter, may throw you into a state of panic quite unrelated to your very real and beautiful immediate circumstances, and keep you in that state for the foreseeable future. It is more up to us what we task our limbic system to endure in any given moment than we might have imagined. Welcome your heart’s caress of your brain, rhythmically lulling you into a reality on safe ground with open sky far above the information tsunami. You can reclaim your limbic system! It is your domain.
