Rose bit her lip, seizing her fingers on the dress shirt in her hands. Her lavender eyes shifted into crisp and sharp discs, faltering with her stance as her lips went agape with worry.

"Kanayaaa," Rose yelped, whipping her head to the side and dropping the fabric to the floor.

"Lilith isn't in the hamper either!"

Rose and Kanaya didn't pay much mind before buying such quite a large house when it was merely just them and their handful of fuzzy, affectionate cats - it wasn't that large, really, though from someone's perspective who've been residing in a tiny, thin-walled apartment with a jointed kitchen and living room, experiencing their time at the Marylondes' two story house with a kitchen island that separated itself from a fair sized diner, along with a simply small Jacuzzi tub in the backyard that Rose and Kanaya rarely turned on and kept drained unless on occasions, that someone would likely flip with a headache.

Having a good sized house came with its perks, leaving there more room for areas to wall around and place more decorative flowers from Kanaya's garden section in the backyard, but it also came with cons.

Cons of which didn't manifest until Rose found out she was pregnant, cons of which didn't come into fruition when the hospital allowed Rose and Kanaya to take their baby daughter home from the NICU.

Rose and Kanaya didn't account on having a baby - supposing humans and trolls were far too different to procreate organically, the only obvious and known way of which a hybrid could exist was through ectobiology. And Rose and Kanaya had decided to put off the thought of having children until they were at least 21 years old, merely just three years from now until they got their stuff together - but their lives on Earth C had other plans.

Kanaya huffed out an audible stress sigh, flinging herself about in their shared room in search of Lilith, but it came up empty each time she scavenged through their closet and underneath their bed.

She was only four weeks! Lilith's whole system was still sensitive and weak, one press of anything particularly sharp, even just nubless, could be enough to prick her skin and cause an infection. Lilith was already a hybrid of unknown weaknesses and potential illnesses from her mixed genetics, let alone an early birth of six months.

Kanaya ran her fingers through her black hair, mussing it up and causing sprays of hair tuft to stick up out of place. She nibbled on her lip, a nervous tick, then lifted her head towards the doorway where Rose was spotted.

"Where on Earth C could she be?" Kanaya fretted, the pads of her fingers fluttering against each other softly like butterfly wings. "She can only crawl, even barely, so she must've not gone far, surely." she muttered the last line more to herself, attempting to assure her worries.

Rose thinned her lips into a straight line, wringing her hands. "Or maybe the cats assisted her with her journey."

Kanaya began trekking past Rose, the blonde immediately following her tracks as they walked downstairs and met with a crowd of grooming cats in the center of the living room.

"Mm, I think they wouldn't be up for endless rough tugs from Lilith's chubby hand," Kanaya said, matter of fact. A nervous surge sparked down Rose's spine, looking frantically around for her daughter - until her eyes settled on a flit of flashy pink in the air, her lips turning into a noticeable frown. Merely glimpsing at the eye-straining pink ruffled Rose, the sense of an irritating company flooding her with a headache.

A loud, rubbery-like sound slip echoed towards the hall, the worried mothers quickly throwing their heads to the direction, leading to the bathroom. Kanaya's pointed ears perked up, sprinting to the bathroom and opening the door with relieved hope in her features. There, in the clean and snow white bathtub, Lilith laid and wriggled, tiny claws carelessly scraping against the material with innocent 'ooo's, completely oblivious to the fact her mothers were stressing their hearts out. Lilith shifted her gaze up at Rose and Kanaya, another loud mewl emitting and ringing inside the bathroom's walls.

Kanaya scooped her up abruptly, hugging her tightly to her chest.

"Oh, thank god, you're okay, little love!" Kanaya's voice had a tight tone, a breath she'd been holding releasing into Lilith's silky hair. At first, Rose stayed still, her mind snapping her awake and probing her to join her wife and daughter.

With steady, self conscious steps, Rose watched Lilith over Kanaya's shoulder with a small hover off the tiles, her little jade green orbs staring keenly at Kanaya until they shifted towards Rose, taking the blonde aback.

A mischievous cackle broke out in the house, alerting the couple there was still a presence at their house.

"I think I may have an inkling on who exactly helped her way to the bathtub." Rose huffed, earning Lilith to suddenly let out boisterous noises. Kanaya hummed lightly, cradling Lilith gently in her secure hold.

"Or perhaps," Kanaya started, throwing a glance behind her at her wife. "Lily is just a beginning escape artist, as you say."

Rose's eyes turned into wide circles, shaking her head with a grunt. "Don't speak it into existence, Kan, I don't think I'm ready to deal with mishaps of Lilith jumping out of her crib at the brink of midnight."

Lilith wriggled in her mother's arms, kitten akin claws softly digging into the cotton of Kanaya's shirt. Kanaya looked on with an astounded expression, brows raising.
